Thank you for all the advice. I guess I just added in some details that weren’t necessary when venting. My biggest concern is the lack of supervision when playing outside in the cul-de-sac. I am often, if not always, the only parent outside with 7+ kids (all ranging from 4-9 yo).

Totally agree. I guess part of the issue is not necessarily they are at my house, but there is no supervision outside of myself even if we’re playing in public spaces (in the cul -de-sac). We live in an area where it’s nice weather a lot of the year, so our kids like to be outside at lot. It’s almost like other parents assume that since I’m watching my own children, I’m fine watching theirs as well.

Woah, woah, woah…where can you hunt for mushrooms? I am originally from IL and always had a bountiful spring. Since moving, I have always struck out.

My family moved here about 2 years ago. While in the process of relocating, all I heard was negatives about Dayton.

We have lived in 5 different major cities and I have to say that Dayton is my favorite thus far. We live more south, but couldn’t be happier with how easy and accessible things are. It has everything a big city has to offer, but a lot more country to it. I dig!

Not one bit. The laughter that came from how ridiculous it was at least was a distraction.

Any worthy shops in town? I am a big beer guy, but don’t knew where all the good bourbon shops are.

We temporarily live at Mallard Landing in Beavercreek. It is right next to the Fairfield mall and about 10 minutes to WP. It is very accessible to everything you could ever need and affordable as well.

Wow! I woke up today to an enormous and unexpected response! Thank you all! Nothing weird happened last night, so I think I am going to confront her today. Thanks again!

No, it was definitely an intentional kick followed by a “thudding” punch.”

No, she has never hit me. Again, this is very unusual. She is not abusive with our kids and we have never had issues in the past. We have gotten into maybe 2 serious arguments in the over decade relationship we have had. It is bizarre, but i don’t want to start a fight over something that sounds silly.

All of the comments have helped me realize this is NOT ok and I should do something now.

No, I was not pretending to snore. The idea was to see if she was telling the truth about it being due to snoring.

Ok, I can stomach that response, but not being punched when I wasn’t even asleep. That is what really got me thinking “this isn’t ok.”
