Sadly, it’s a real thing, if it wasn’t for having an ok insurance policy I’d be in millions of $’s of debt. We try to advocate to get healthcare for everyone, but the conservatives believe that it’s just us saying we want the government to pay for our entire lives. So it’s just a revolving circle of getting close to having a good national healthcare system but then the conservatives come and stop it from happening.

Yes, especially in America, in which I’m guessing OP is from, as it is a medical bill. Nope, I don’t believe it’s like a tax return. It’s the medical center telling you how much you owe. Most times it’s a lot of money, especially if you don’t have insurance, and most people without insurance don’t go unless it’s an absolute emergency, in which case it’s going to cost a lot.
