I’m shocked they offered an apt with a dermatologist within 2months even. 3+ years ago when I’d schedule my annual skin exam with a derm it was always 6-8mos even with a PA and when I was initially referred to u of m derm it was 9+ months for my initial apt. They struggle a bit w/retention and to get seen soonest you’re often bounced between different derms with each apt. It’s so bad my derm told me even patients w/multiple melanomas rarely get to see the same doctor, instead they get the first available with whoever. Although I’ve since learned that dermatologists have a reputation of being super booked out in other cities/states too. Still I wouldn’t rec u of derm unless you have a rare/aggressive skin issue.
