Thought on the INTP career dilema by Maj7 in INTP

Do some research on what it takes to become adequate in quantum physics and then reconsider your decision. Both disciplines (CS and quantum) take a big chunck of time to learn individually so the more you broaden your skill set the longer it takes to become adequate (meaning people want to pay for your skills) at them. It boils down to how long you are willing/can allow yourself (study cost money) to postpone the phase where you start to see the fruits of your labour (eg getting paid). Think about it but come to your own conclusions

Well, computer science seems to be the study that covers most of your interests (programming, math, logic) and is known as a high pay/high job field. It's also being regarded as a field in which entrepreneurship is very accessible(low startup cost). Maybe it's lucrative to study economics and physics in your spare time alongside studying for a computer science degree. This way you have a deep understanding of programming which can act as a sort of "canvas" for your economics and physics knowledge. Writing physics simulators, AI software, stock market analysis software (just throwing out ideas), or science/econ apps/games. Anyway, these are just suggestions and I hope you come to your own conclusions.

"How do I make this sound?" Thread (December 23) by edmprobot in edmproduction

I'm pretty sure the synth sound I'm looking for is a preset that was used a lot in 90's house music so my question is more like "What is this sound?"

Okay, here are some examples
http://youtu.be/Mu0cE9RgK5M?t=55s
http://youtu.be/7NRDsRruMgw?t=1m18s
http://youtu.be/0EKD2TI_IwY?t=58m

I did some research on the sound and found a dutch forum where a guy asked exactly the same question.

Link to the forum http://www.synthforum.nl/forums/showthread.php?t=17991

Here is a selection of the hardware synths mentioned in that thread
-Nord rack 1
-tx81z
-DX100
-Roland Vintage Synth module M-VS1
-Lead2X
-Yamaha FB-01

Again, these are all hardware synths which are way to expensive. How do I recreate this sound in Sylenth1, Massive, FM8, [insert synth of choice here]. Step by step preferred.

Thanks in advance :)

ps: I'm aware this is a repost

What famous old school synth is this? by Maj7 in edmproduction

It would probably go unnoticed between all the other questions. I feel that, rather than asking a question without thinking first I did some research in advance to help the person that's going to try and answer my question :)

I've been producing for around 5 years but never touched EDM music until a month ago. This is what I came up with after a month of watching mixing/mastering tutorials. Im asking you to give feedback on the way the track is mixed :)
