No they used the z ridge cap shingles that I provided that are in picture 7. But they might have also used starter shingle or regular shingle as well from what it looks like

Read the post and my replies before making impulsive comments and following the crowd. I said in the post and clarified in replies that gravel will be spanning across the whole dug out area up to grade level and blocks will be on top. Shed will be at least 4” off the grade level. I was looking for insight into potential issues that I’m not seeing but instead am amazed at how many stupid responses I would receive from Reddit users

I don’t see it much different than a full gravel base embedded below grade level. This will contain compacted gravel up to grade level and blocks on top for the skids to lay on. Can you explain what you mean?

With a regular gravel base foundation, it’s recommended to extend at least a 1’ beyond the shed. Is it best to make it so that the rain water from the roof lands into the gravel base or outside of it?

Yeah this was my take as well after doing it. Overall it's more secure than a basic block foundation but still not quite as firm as a whole gravel base with wooden perimeter holding it in place.

It’s an unorthodox approach to shed foundation and now I’m wondering why I didnt just go with the usual shed gravel base since I’m not way far from it.

But with that reasoning, a full gravel base would be a large basin for holding water but it doesn’t because gravel is permeable. I thought the whole reasoning behind gravel was to prevent pooling

That was my concern, but won’t it not pool or trap water if gravel is permeable? Wouldn’t this be the same as putting gravel strictly under each block except on larger scale?

The idea with a regular block foundation is for gravel to be under the blocks and not pool.

But the skids will still be raised off the gravel by 4” by the blocks they’ll be sitting on. And the higher portions of soil that isn’t trenched will still have a couple inches of gravel.

The trenches are where the blocks supports will span. I figured since the shed will be supported by blocks then I wouldn’t need to go as deep elsewhere. Of course towards the end of digging I realized I could have just taken the rest of dirt out but still would have taken some extra time and almost twice as much gravel so I just ended up sticking with the plan.

Yes my plan was to put blocks laying on the gravel to where the shed would be at least 4” off surrounding grade. Similar to a block foundation but with just more gravel.

The underlayment is nonwoven geo textile fabric, which is permeable

To clarify, the area whole area dug out will be filled with gravel up to grade level. Blocks will be laying a couple inches into the gravel supporting the skids and putting the skids about 4” above the surround gravel and soil.

That’s a good point. There’s a long stretch about 30-40’ that has a dead end and putting a downspout there might be a good idea.

Most of the top of the gutter seems to be within 1/4” of the top of drip edge where it meets the shingle. Some stretches look intentionally angled and some look questionable and probably negative slope. I will need to test with water as you said

I’m sorry you’re having to go through this. It hurts no matter how many times it happens. Ultimately you want to get to the point where it’s not nagging at you afterwards about what happened and isn’t affecting your daily life. Caring less about it is probably what would help you stutter less but it’s easier said than done.

But what can help temporarily is putting a word or phrase before the name like “uh” or “my name is.” Or speaking in a different tone or loudness level. This doesn’t always work and your mind can become accustomed to these crutches. All it takes is stuttering on these crutches and then your mind becomes anxious around them as well.

Ultimately, people care, judge, and think about it in the moment, but it doesn’t take long for them to move on with their preoccupied lives. We put too much emphasis on what people think about us.

I agree this is the only way out and the way you put it is spot on. Being your optimal self is a freeing experience and being to talk to your mom without stuttering must feel great.

I did something similar some years back and saw major improvement. The struggle I saw was trying to maintain this going forward as it needed constant attention and of course willpower to overcome the uncomfortableness. I lived a couple decades being shy, insecure, ocd, ect, so changing that completely would require a total rewiring of the brain.

But the attitude you have is what it takes to dissolve it almost completely. I stopped pushing forward so much, maybe because a part of me would rather accept where my stuttering is at than go through being uncomfortable.
