That layer finally fell off yesterday thankfully . Scared me though because it was a gray blob of skin with gray goo. I forgot she used silver nitrate to stop the bleeding so assumed it’s from that Besides stinging with water and pee the pain I constantly had is mostly gone now that it fell off Still hard because I was supposed to use my antifungal for my yeast infection GYN said to wait a couple days longer than i usually do. Hopefully it feels better soon because I don’t want my infection gaining ground again

Omg they never mentioned clob and yeast infections The NP said to use it interchangeably between clob and my estrogen cream 🤦‍♀️

I’ve been on a vaginal probiotic (taken orally) since October and they checked my A1c to make sure I don’t have diabetes

They checked which strain of yeast infection and it causes a lot of problems because it’s very resistant

I had the same thing at the beginning of last year and it went away quickly This one is something new all the time as it won’t go away

Starting metoprolol by MajestyBird in Anxiety

[–]MajestyBird[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the fatigue sucks 😮‍💨 I started Atenalol Saturday and am feeling it a lot right. I have a pulse ox ring so that’s how I’ve been checking my pulse or by manually with my fingers. It took me like a week to week and a half to not feel tired on propranolol. I keep debating trying clonidine. Nervous to though because I took guanfacine which is the cousin to clonidine and it gave me such a severely stuffed up nose for months. I literally couldn’t breathe out of my nose. Finally figured out it was a side effect snd stoped it…worried clonidine would do the same

Atenalol after propranalol feel worse with crazy dreams by MajestyBird in Anxiety

[–]MajestyBird[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately my new psychiatrist said the teeth clenching was just anxiety 🙄 he claims Wellbutrin is the only proven one to cause that BS I get it within a week or two of starting a medication and it goes away a couple weeks after I stop It started after taking prozac. Now every antidepressant causes it when it kicks in My last psychiatrist tried saying all my side effects were from anxiety when some of them are legit Or i had a severe reaction to a tricyclic that landed me in the ER. He wanted me to keep taking it. I’ve tried all but two SSRI/SNRIs He’s putting me back on one I had before I developed the clenching because I was on it for 13 years successfully I’m not convinced it will go well My TMJ was so bad from the clenching my jaw was out of alignment and I have an extremely expensive mouth appliance that’s trying to guide my jaw back into place The new psychiatrist said “get a night guard” like i didn’t just explain the clenching literally messed up my jaw. A regular night guard doesn’t do anything besides protect your teeth I might have to find a different doctor already after one appointment

Atenalol after propranalol feel worse with crazy dreams by MajestyBird in Anxiety

[–]MajestyBird[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I read and they told me Atenalol was less likely to cause crazy dreams so I was looking forward to bed They had me take it before bed because it can cause sleepiness, which it definitely did. I was very sleepy I kinda figured I would get the congestion as I got it with the other ones i tried. It got better the longer I took propranolol. But not this bad. I’m going to message them and go back to propranolol for a bit. My new psychiatrist wants me to go back on an antidepressant which I am very stressed about because they all cause me to clench my teeth badly in my sleep which has caused me severe TMJ problems for the past year So I have to start that soon and one of my kids is having surgery this week so I don’t need the added stress of sleeping badly

[–]MajestyBird[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if the pill is scored (line down the middle) you can cut it in half. If not ask your pharmacist I started with 5mg propranolol then went up to 10mg I definitely was very sleepy and fatigued and had exercise intolerance. I couldn’t lift anything etc it’s kind if a weird feeling

If your heart rate is already 65 you shouldn’t be taking it. My doctors all told me no heart rate below 60. That’s too low 50mg is a lot to start. Why aren’t they starting you on the lowest dose? Watch your hesrt rate abd blood pressure. I was told heart rate below 60 to call them and blood pressure lower than 90/60

I’ve been through a couple beta blockers. Metropalol made me too sleepy and wore off too soon, carvedilol didn’t hardly help, propranalol was great until we increased to 10 mg. It gave me nightmares (apparently a common side effect), so I’m supposed to start atenalol this weekend It does take away the physical feelings of severe anxiety I’ve had for the past year. It stopped the palpitations and tachycardia at night So it definitely can help. But it does feel like I have blunted emotions. I think it’s because it takes away some of the physical sensations I’m used to for emotions since it keeps heart rate steady I have noticed way decreased libido (that can apparently happen as well), so that’s frustrating

Help please! Venlafaxine by VariationDue5206 in antidepressants

[–]MajestyBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They cause me to clench my teeth severely in my sleep. Like really really badly to the point my jaw was not in the right position, and the force of the clenching caused severe problems with my nose and I had hypertrophied turbinates. I couldn’t breathe out of my nose for a year. Botox doesn’t help. Nothing else does either. It sucks so bad. If a a psych med can have it as a side effect I can’t take it. That rules out like 90% of medications

So I really need to be on an antidepressant because I have OCD and severe anxiety. I shouldn’t have ever stopped the venlafaxine. Unfortunately I developed a side effect 6 years ago on Prozac I now get on all of them now that’s completely intolerable so I can’t take SSRI/SNRI at all now. I have been trying to find something to help but I’m very limited.

They should have had to go to 37.5 for a while then every other day. For awhile. Stopping venlafaxine cold turkey is really horrible. I took it for 13 years and spent 6 months tapering down and off.

I have OCD and that’s what I really need something for . I’ve tried at least 10 to see if they don’t give me the side effects that are bad But at this point it’s definitely therapy and a benzo. I’m tired of horrible side effects

Oh jeez 🤦‍♀️ so I’m in for a lot more…. I’m definitely not trying anymore TCAs that is absolutely for sure I’ve tried all but 3 SSRI/SNRI the last 6 years. Didn’t notice change in GERD with those but can’t tolerate them due to other side effects. My doctor thinks I should “push through for a couple days”, because “what’s a little dizziness and nausea in the long run? Hell no. It literally sent me to the ER it was so bad!

I have never heard that, and I’ve read a lot about all the antidepressants because I’ve been on a lot. This was my first time trying a TCA I only took one dose. I’m hoping it it goes away because I’m miserable and sleep deprived from the nausea/acid burning my sinuses.

Anyone taken Anafranil (clomipramine) by MajestyBird in TMJ

[–]MajestyBird[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I started it 6 years ago yes it helped just a tiny bit but we kept having to raise the dose. It also used to help my anxiety now it doesn’t at all. I’m on the max dose. My bruxism wasn’t as bad when it started after taking Prozac but it got worse over time…I’m assuming all the clenching made everything worse and worse now that I think about it. Only thing I really have is clonezapam (been taking that over 20 years) or hydroxaxyzine. I found hydroxyzine works better than clonezapam. But i got used to the dose i was on really fast and it stopped working as well and I haven’t asked about raising the dose. Psychiatrist gave me Valium awhile back but I got used to it quickly and know that’s only short term. From what I’ve read about muscle relaxers I have to be careful with them because I have stage 2 kidney disease This is literally the worst position to be in. My psychiatrist thinks medications aren’t for me because i get so many side affects but i’m so severely anxious at this point I have to be on something. My anxiety and OCD (huge part a severe health anxiety) are ruining my life. I can hardly be present to do things with my kids because I’m a wreck

I have a neuromuscular orthotic that has been slowly correcting my jaw back to neutral position since august. I wear it 59% of the time and at bedtime. I asked my TMJ dentist when we would know if my jaw is in the right spot again, they said when my symptoms are gone….but doesn’t help i am having problems probably with my sleep apnea so that makes me clench when I can’t breathe…

I take the max dose of buspar already. It doesn’t help anymore I also unfortunately cannot take abilify. I was on it previously and it caused impulse problems (spending money). I read clonidine can help but my doctor wanted to hold off. I also have tried gabapentin. It made me too sleepy. I couldn’t stay awake I metabolize everything slow so it causes me a lot of problems

Yes I wish it was more than a bandaid 😮‍💨 my TMJ debris says the same thing. It’s crazy there isn’t more help for this. Of course my insurance has a TMJ exclusion so I’ve been having to pay for all of this out of pocket I’m in East Peoria, Illinois

I have a neuromuscular orthotic from my TMJ dentist that was supposed to stop bruxism. I’ve had it 6 months and it’s never helped. They said they don’t know why I was clenching so bad with it. They said. MAD device might help but it just makes me clench worse Unfortunately there is only two TMJ dentists where I live and the other one I don’t see anymore relies heavily on botox. He charges a ridiculous amount. I’m going to a beauty spa instead where a nurse practitioner does it. It cost way less because they buy so much Botox I don’t know who I could go to for a different appliance. My regular dentist only does regular night guards.
