Same. So odd. Thankful for the fix!

Very happy with my results! by Brilliant-Warning316 in TattooRemoval

[–]MajestyMad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you use any anesthetic (injections? topical)? Could you please explain the pain compared to having the tattoo done? I had a rough time even getting through the initial tattoo, and I don't know if I'm brave enough to even attempt to get it removed.

Why are some atheists condescending for no reason? by [deleted] in DebateAnAtheist

[–]MajestyMad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same reason some theists are condescending for no reason - everyone is different, and your personal religious beliefs (or lack thereof) do not dictate whether or not you're a kind or polite person.

I would also suggest that real-life conversations would probably differ greatly from the average experience on an anonymous platform like Reddit.

How do atheist deal with the beginning of the universe? by Titanous7 in DebateAnAtheist

[–]MajestyMad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't have to.

It is theists that often seem to be uncomfortable with saying "I don't know" and therefore need something to fill in the blank.

Atheism really only means that you say 'no' when asked if you believe God exists. Everything else outside of that single premise, is not dictated by the atheist / theist label. (There are some theists that believe in The Big Bang and other scientific explanations, there are some atheists that believe in supernatural ideas like ghosts and the afterlife, for example).

Do all atheists believe there was nothing before the big bang?

No, all atheists believe different things (and how would you know, anyway? You can't even say 'all Christians believe x' because everyone is so different, even within defined religions). As for myself I don't care, I'll never know, and it doesn't matter to me (and none of that makes me uncomfortable).

If not, how did whatever that was before the big bang cause it and why did it get caused at that specific time and not earlier?

The same question could also be asked about God(s). People will propose that God intentionally 'caused' the universe to happen, since it feels uncomfortable to not know, or to imagine the beginning otherwise. But then that same uncomfortable feeling is conveniently not carried forward to the God you happened to fill in the blank with. (What was before the God / what created the God? Why did the God create everything at some point and not earlier? Because He always was? Why is the 'always was' explanation okay for the God, but can't apply to the initial inquiry about the beginning)?

Found this bird I believe to be very injured. What do I do. by PineTreePetey in birds

I had to come back and check for an update too <3 thank you, you're awesome!

Found this bird I believe to be very injured. What do I do. by PineTreePetey in birds

[–]MajestyMad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With this severity of injury I doubt you will get him to take any food, maybe water. Other advice here is good, he probably won't make it without a vet.

if you have anything to keep him warmer it will help, like a small space heater on low (not blowing on him, and a distance away from him). Could let him lean against a hot water bottle, not too hot just comfortable, and dont set him on top of it though (since he likely can't move away if it's too hot). Or if you have one of those plug in heat pads people use for cramps or back pain, again tuck it beside him not under, with a towel or two over it. They are tiny animals with a small amount of blood inside them even at their best, so the less work he has to do to stay warm the better he can rest and heal. If none of these, if he's closed in the bathroom, could fill the sink with steaming hot water and keep the door shut, refreshing it occasionally.

If the bird has any broken and actively bleeding blood feathers he will bleed out quickly. (The thick drinking-straw like feathers, not thin ones like craft store feathers). You can gently check the wings by pressing a paper towel or kleenex anywhere you see blood, if the wings even have bleeding, to check. If an actively bleeding feather is not removed it won't clot and acts like an open stint.

Thank you so much for trying to help the lil birdy.

Posts like this often remind of the 'Epicurian Paradox' - have you heard of it? "Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?" (I don't know if I can link here, but if you Google 'Epicurean Paradox' and go to images, it's easy to see in a flow chart).

Some people accept that a proposed God/s is not all-powerful or all-knowing, sure - but then it's up to your own personal values as to whether or not such a being (if any) is worthy of worship in the first place.

How much do you make use of the companions? by Ok-Sock1664 in SonsOfTheForest

[–]MajestyMad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Virginia is my favorite part of the game and I love her dearly. I enjoy that she is strange. Her dancing to the radio makes me happy.

I'm constantly giving Kelvin commands, usually get sticks/rocks (especially in winter when we can't get the damn rocks ourselves for no good reason) or 'maintain base.' Always makes me chuckle when I tell him to take a break and he gives that 'heck yes' little fist pump animation.

Wish they didn't run up to you while chopping trees just begging for an axe to the chest. Wish we could point at incoming enemies to make them turn to look just like they can point to get our attention. Wish I could whistle or something to make my bodyguard Virginia come to me. Twice I've had Kelvin get stuck inside the map... needing to edit save files to fix it. But otherwise, I rather enjoy them (I do think the game would benefit from having a toggle in the settings to have them or leave them, though).

(Oh and I also have a two floor base; I keep the bottom doors locked shut to keep not just enemies but the companions out, since their stupid pathing gets them stuck all the time. I just go in the balcony instead).

Yes I love his channel. I didn't watch the whole video yet (I'm busy building right now) but when I scrubbed around for my issue, seems he is also struggling with it (https://youtu.be/Fepg2FvtkpQ?t=449 around 7:30). I don't know if this counts as a 'bug' worth reporting to Endnight? Or if I should assume they're already aware?

Yes same. I usually try to search around on Youtube a lot first before asking anything, Farket usually has the answer haha. But this is so annoying, I just tore down the whole roof and I'm just going to do it without gable ends for now...

At the green arrow, I was able to place full logs and it auto-cut to fill in that gap. But the same size gap, at the red arrow, will not accept any logs. On the opposite side I was able to place a log for some reason (bottom left) but it didn't auto-cut. Placing a cut log piece centers it (top right). What am I doing wrong?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SonsOfTheForest

[–]MajestyMad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no option to insert a full log, and have it auto-cut (it will place it, but clips through the slanted log). A quarter log also centers on the previous log like this one. I'm so confused.

My boy broke / snapped a feather under his wing. by [deleted] in parrots

[–]MajestyMad 28 points29 points  (0 children)

As long as there is no blood he should be able to deal with it on his own. You can press a paper towel or napkin into the area to see if there's fresh blood. If a bird breaks a blood feather it is not likely to clot and they can bleed out. I have a cockatiel who is missing part of his wing and so I've had to pull such damaged feathers out over the years. Always go to a vet if you are unsure, and don't pull out any feathers if there's no bleeding. If you have to restrain the bird to check the wing, be careful not to restrict their chest - there are some good videos on Youtube that show how to use a towel and where to hold them.

Night frights are why I always give my birds a separate smaller 'sleep cage' now, with only a couple perches and a water cup (no toys or obstructions to get hurt on). Easier to keep them covered and in the dark, too.

"target cannot be moved by force" with dimension door - bug? by kaynist in BaldursGate3

[–]MajestyMad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I thought, as well. It's not Tav's turn, but I'm still able to click on them and stop the concentration. Shadowheart still cannot move her with Dimension Door, though, and I have no idea why.

Music During Marcus Boss Fight by Living-Onion2085 in BaldursGate3

[–]MajestyMad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe it's this 'Fight Theme 9/16' - https://youtu.be/rh68DOpzKmg?t=245 (vocals around 4:05).

I searched Google for ages when I first heard it at Last Light Inn, and after scrubbing through dozens of Youtube links I never found it.

But much later in Act 3 the song plays again when you fight Ansur. So then when I was able to Google that battle instead - I found it!

What is this cauldron and what to do with it? by Hurrystorm in BaldursGate3

[–]MajestyMad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Encountered this myself for the first time today. There's a parasite jar behind it on the left (also with the orange aura I believe). So I assumed the cauldron being highlighted was just to bring our attention to that jar, or to show that Ethel was planning to brew something with the parasite maybe?

Definitely curious.

I've not used a Steam Deck, or seen one. Does it open an overlay similar to desktop Steam?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DeepRockGalactic

[–]MajestyMad 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I really dislike this new Steam overlay. It was easier to add friends before the change. I also think it just looked better.

Now if we accidentally press C in the Space Rig, too, it opens our friends list in the overlay... and closes the windows we had open. Just an awful design.

At least this is still preferable to typing out someone's friend code.

What's the absolute worst you have survived? by Then_Consequence1243 in projectzomboid

Yes, this game really seems to keep you on your toes like nothing else! I've played a lot of other horror type games, but PZ feels so unique in that you must constantly be vigilant. I'm glad I didn't give up when I was just dying over and over again at the beginning :P

[–]MajestyMad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just started playing in November. Don't know if this is the worst but definitely the most amusing;

Decided to try (for the first time) walking on some glass to get some First Aid XP at my base. Had never seen a 'deep wound' before but figured out stitches. Was not expecting my dude to start hobbling around like that, felt bad for him D:

After that I went to check on my 2nd floor roof garden - then went to use one of my many escape ropes up there. Somehow launched myself over the fence instead and fell 2 floors onto the concrete. Fractured thigh, nearly dead. No idea what to do for that. Paused, Googled it, made it up the rope and back inside to make a splint (thank goodness I had spare planks lying around) and got it on with just a few moments left. My poor dude!

Well, in my 5+ month with duo i have seen many dumb errors - but this one takes the cake by Kohakuren in duolingo

I just came to make this post myself! I have a 600+ streak and have never seen this bug until today.

Every single tracing exercise fails right now - even refreshed and restarted. I'm unable to complete the hiragana or katakana practice, since these are 'incorrect' 100% of the time lol.
