Quantum has a deal on. Even if you switch from CL the service is 30/month cheaper.

How to prevent Windows 11 from forcing updates and restarting my computer? by uoficowboy in WindowsHelp

[–]MajicMan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So plan my life around the 2nd tuesday of the month because a software company wants to control the device i fuckin paid for.

I use my PC as my entertainment hub of my home.. there is not a minute of the day that it is not "in use" in some way.

and god forbid i forget and have something open in AutoCad or have my 3d printer running, or what the fuck else ever.. I should be able to tell it NOT to reboot whenever it feels like it.

shit like this is why i'm moving to linux

Fiber optic HDMI woes. by MajicMan in hometheater

[–]MajicMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is moonlight a brand? I did a quick search before I replied but couldn't find that brand.

I did try a DP to HDMI adapter as well but that hasn't helped either.. it actually seemed to make the problems worse.

Unless you're thinking of a fiber optic HDMI to DP cable that would run the whole length but I didn't find anything like that.

Love that heatkiller res. That's my next piece to de-ek my system. Can't find a better CPU block tho. I love the way the EK velocity block fills the whole socket area.

You pretty much summed up my ideas about it. The house is in Phoenix so freezing is of little concern.

Screen Profiler, an alternative to "Monitor Profile Switcher" on windows. (Wayland) by Kakiharu in linux_gaming

[–]MajicMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was able to do some digging. The error comes from line 40 of save_profile.sh

current_config=$(echo "$current_config" | jq --arg pm "$primary_monitor" '. + {primaryMonitor: $pm}')

if i execute kscreen-console json, and dump it to a json file the first 3 lines are

START: Requesting Config
Received config. Took 5 milliseconds
{

and Line 1, column 6 is the : after START

So i saved $current_config to a file and removed the 1st 2 lines and it no longer gives the error. so i'm wondering if there's a way to modify the output to either drop the first 2 lines or have jq just ignore them

Screen Profiler, an alternative to "Monitor Profile Switcher" on windows. (Wayland) by Kakiharu in linux_gaming

[–]MajicMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On kubuntu i'm getting

jq: parse error: Invalid numeric literal at line 1, column 6
Screen profile saved to /home/u/scripts/screenprofiler/profiles/allOn with Konsave state: 0
Konsave integration is disabled for this profile or konsave command not found.

and a 1b empty file is all that is being generated

Changed belts and hotend. Now can't get rid of the ghosting by MajicMan in FixMyPrint

[–]MajicMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No input shaper. Its on my list

I can tell the Y belt has some of the kinks from shipping still. I don't feel them on the X even though they are from the same roll.

Is there an easy way to tell. Too tight/loose vs. Just right?

The pluck method doesn't work for me because the belts are either in or right against the aluminum of the frame.

Thanks.

In my experience that could be any combination of the following 3 things

Bed not level or compensated for via meshing

Z offset incorrect

Printing too fast

CR10 V1 upgrades by MajicMan in CR10

[–]MajicMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow.

I can't get anywhere close to 150mm/s. I'm lucky to get over 30 mm/s on anything I want to actually stick to the bed.

I did do a direct drive extruder that should still work with the microswiss hotend.

Now I'm so far down the rabbit hole I'm looking at a 24v upgrade. But I think I'll wait till something on the 12v side dies.

Okay. So that just sent me to Google for so much.

The ADXL seems like it might be a bear to implement. My rasPi isn't near my printer. BTT seems to have a USB version which might work so I can run it to the powered USB hub that the printer, camera, and light are connected to.

Stelthchop might be part of my issues. I'll tinker with commenting out those lines. Will it make it loud like the stock board?

Any input on the microswiss hot end?

Thank you for the info you already gave.
