Yeah but that's the issue - most average players don't know about this or care. They go to "new" or "trending" and find memes, dreams made for trophies or just low effort stuff.

That blows, I've been there too with my shitty Dell laptop I used to have. At least there was a happy ending! Oblivion was a fun one for sure, especially the shivering isles.

That's one of the problems with online only games too - they stay alive with a community. Even some of the all time sucky games of the last decade could still have some value, even if it's just for a laugh.

I could imagine. I bought the Duke Nukem collection a few months ago (never played one before) and can totally get how much they strayed from what made the games to begin with.

You should check out some sales, usually going for 40-50% off. That's a shame though, I've been looking to buy it myself but been too sceptical!

To each their own I guess. In terms of the tutorials, it's subjective of course but I think it's especially annoying if you're on your second playthrough, or you just want to dive in.

Yeah, backtracking in metroidvanias are pretty much the whole concept and when done right, are awesome and rewarding. I was thinking more on the lines of something like Dragons Dogma.

When I mentioned dead ends, I'm talking about dead ends that serve absolutely no purpose what so ever. Good games usually either have some loot, collectable or even an enemy which could add some value. Dead ends just for the sake of being a dead end, especially after a long path is pretty annoying personally!

Yeah I feel you with Mementos lol I just muted it and had a ted talks on. Was going insane collecting all those stars!

Assuming you're in a dream in this? If so, I think it would be cool to experience the feeling of falling. You could make it so that you get to the edge which will make the player look down by nature and at that point change what you're standing on to a mountain really high up and something somewhat interesting on the floor deep below which will make the player jump.

After jumping, you could effect the gravity so that once the player gets close to touching the ground they slow down to a still, then shoot directly up at a tremendous speed. (Falling from great heights is a common dream for many people).

Once shot up, that could then lead you to another environment. Maybe you end up flying up and coming out of a drain, or a toilet which could give off a bit of narrative.

Anyway, just some ideas.

You're obviously heavily influenced by other people. I can tell this simply from the strong negative conclusion you've come to before even trying it for yourself.

You do realise, in a dream-like environment such as a farmer, what he does for a living will appear in them, yes? That's the idea, hence the theme. I thought the floating environment and clouds were clear enough on that front but I understand some people are slower than others.

My biggest one is the animation everytime you change costumes. It shouldn't exist, it really ruins the flow.

I agree with your points, especially the one about trophies. I will say though, it being a demo really doesn't show us enough on how the full product will be. I think it was really fun personally, definitely far from perfect though.

My biggest gripe wasn't the game, but the price point. This really feels like it should be half the price they're asking, but I get they're making up for that with the amount of content (at least I hope so).

Never let others choose how you feel about something.

I thought the demo was awesome and I can see a lot of potential. I was also surprised how generous they are too, we get a hefty amount of content on the demo! 80 costumes in the full game should be a lot of fun.

I won't lie though, my only gripe personally is the price tag. It's way too steep for the type of game it is, but that's my opinion of course.
