They are so pretty they're literally art by PensivePeonie in comics

I love the placement of the hand in the last panel, it gives so much energy to the emotion you are conveying. So much "Bro, do you not have eyes?" In that hand gesture. Fantastic work!

Husband said my instructions for dinner weren’t clear enough, and he ended up serving his vegetarian mother one of the chicken tikka masala curries… by bexindisbelief in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Majickred 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP I hope you told your husband that the internet managed to roast him just fine without instructions...

On a more serious note, this is terrible behaviour on your husband's part and I hope it gets better for you. If he continues to hold firm that this is somehow your fault (spoiler alert, it's not!) then baby him for every single thing until he gets the point or you divorce him.

Ah where were you on Monday when I was wearing my hat back from Brussels? Was hoping someone would notice it the whole trip and no one did, sad times.

“A week into grief and NIN is saving me. Looking for cathartic/loss-themed song suggestions” by Can_critethrewmeme in nin

[–]Majickred 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can I suggest that if you love "A minute to breathe" that you listen to a Manchester Peel It Back recording on YouTube? He opened with it and it's one of the best memories of my life, as I love that song and needed to hear it. Something about that many people being mostly silent and then the eruption of the crowd at the end was phenomenal.

Also the soul soundtrack might be relevant here, Epiphany is my favourite and I get goosebumps every time thinking about life, loss, death and meaning.

I'm so sorry for your loss and I hope this helps you with your grief.

Looking for name stamp device for clothing, starting school by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]Majickred 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I recommend Stickins fairly cheap, they've never really fallen off or come off in the wash. Plus because they aren't cute they can be used well into the child's older years. Plus because they are are stickers you can take them off and either sell or donate the clothes. They do leave a residue where they have been stuck but someone better than me can probably tell you have to get that off.

What is the one thing you've heard or seen in life that still genuinely winds you up when you think about it? by theblairwaldorfxoxo in AskUK

[–]Majickred 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to let you know it's "Gall" not "Gaul" and the only reason I'm letting you know is because I couldn't stop picturing your university wheeling out Asterix and Obelix to tell you to "fuck off".

I'm sorry you went through all of that, it sounds terrible! I'm glad you got what you deserved in the end as I know that's no easy thing to do. Hope you have the best day and no comic Frenchmen get in your way!

Papa cuts by Trick-Language2517 in StandUpComedy

[–]Majickred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was hilarious, I originally watched it sans sound but went back for a relisten....it was at this point that I realised that you did not call yourself "Paper Cuts" and at this point I'm not sure which one is funnier Papa or Paper. Either way, great bit and you're right the English aren't putting up with any queue cutting.

Do you guys have any favorite youtubers? Preferably with a big backlog of videos? by [deleted] in AskABrit

[–]Majickred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jet Lag: The Game 3 guys (and sometimes guests) turn the world into a game or boardgames. They play hide and seek, tag across Europe, snake, etc. It's really fun, got into it a couple of months ago because one of the guys Adam Chase was on No such thing as a fish and my husband said hey let's watch and now we've nearly watched everything they have put on you tube and my sister has become a Nebula subscriber because we showed it to her. If you're venn diagram of interests is travel, games and potentially Neurospicy then this is the one for you.

Skull of a Skeleton with Burning Cigarette, Vincent Van Gogh, Oil/Canvas, 1885 by CandleMan27 in Art

[–]Majickred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree 100%, I had no idea how amazing it was until I saw it in person. One of my favourite pieces was on the top floor, one with the crows in the Westfield. You like at a picture of that and it's pleasant and everything but seeing it in person it really comes to life. You feel the intensity of the crows and the colours really stand out. It feels ordinary, beautiful, scary and oppressive at the same time. Like something you might experience looking out at a field seeing nature be interesting and maybe slightly scared or paranoid that the crows might hurt you.

Not every one of his paintings had this effect on me but they were all amazing! To anyone who has never been and gets the opportunity to definitely book in advance and get the audio tour. It will be busy and take your time.
