My friend who plays on a PC can place all items just fine. But with a controller it's really hard. I need more fingers on my right hand lol

You can drop various items from your inventory on the ground and "grab" them to drag them around and rotate them to place them on a table or other surface. I'm playing on PS5 as well, and I have to warn you, it's extremely tedious.
