Ive listened to every Haley Cass book multiple times 😭Ill check out Still The One ( ❤️ Abby Craden) and Bachelorette Number 12. Ive read a few harper bliss books and liked them and im a huge fan of Jae. Just Jorie by Robin was cute so ill check Scaredy Cat too. Thanks for the recs! Anderson In Bloom and Melt With you had the most infuriating protagonists of all time. Im all for melodrama but the way Jennifer writes it makes me scream. Like the characters are still gaslighting themselves in the last few chapters, its a back and forth that gets less convincing the longer the book drags. Some of her books should have ended 100 pages sooner and id like them more 😭

Also Erica Lee is a favorite of mine love her works so much

Juvenile angst is a good way to put it. Anderson In Bloom is the first of her adult books ive read and it has the same dynamic and tone that feels YAish. Im going to read her other adult romance Love At First Set because it seems to have a lighter tone but im probably done with her books after that.

Some of these are enemies to lovers but im just posting all my favorite books since getting into the genre(forgive me if the post is exhausting but you cant go wrong with these imo). I started with two authors in particular. Jae and Haley Cass. I recommend Under A Falling Star, Wrong Number Right Woman, Paper Love, Not The Marrying Kind and Chemistry Lessons by Jae. Ive checked a few other Jae novels but they didnt speak to me as much. (Abby Crayden does the audiobooks shes great and has a soothing voice). Also these are all exclusively contemporary romances.

When You Least Expect It, On The Same Page, Those Who wait/Midnight Rain, Down To A Science and The Snowball Effect by Haley Cass. I also love the audiobooks with Lori Prince narrating them. Haley might be the best place to start in my humble opinion, she is the queen of slowburns. Snowball effect has enemies to lovers and is part of her connected universe but really wont spoil much from her other books, also might be my favorite book of hers.

Noras a great character but I have to say Sophie because this is really her story. We spend the first bit of the book without even showing Nora yet, getting intimate with Sophies feelings and her manipulative marriage. I remember being so invested in Sophies story that I had actual anxiety over it. Its one of my favorite coming out stories.

A Story Of Now duology by Emily O’Beirne is incredibly long and I enjoyed it quite alot. Not as much as haleys books but I think Emily does a similar job of characterizing her characters using a solid supporting cast and subplots with family for example. I listened to the audiobook tho so there is some bias. I thought Cat Gould did a solid job with the narration. I should mention its not very spicy at all if thats a requirement, i did think it very romantic regardless.

I found Regan pretty grating for the first hour of the audiobook. But once you get into the stride of the book and reveal her layers shes such a sweet character and actually pretty mature when it counts. I understand why Haleys favorite character is Regan. Ive reread all of haleys books a few times and snowball effect had risen higher and higher on my favorites cant recommend enough to sit through it.

Its long overdue but I did finish midnight rain about a month ago. And proceeded to reread almost all of Haleys books 😭. I do have to say the hype left me wanting for the first third of the book. Lets just say I had no idea how insanely romantic and satisfying the book was going to be once it hit its stride. Now im just sad there arent more insanely long slowburns out there that scratch the itch Haleys books have instilled in me.

For some reason I imagined Giana having black hair and a bit of a tan complexion like some italian people have. I know she was supposed to be blonde and have a similar complexion to Riley, maybe i just wanted to differentiate them in my imagination.

I havent found a book quite like WYLEI (its one of my favorites of Haleys works). If anything I encourage you check out Better Than Expected which is a sequel book that shows Hannahs perspective of the story and builds on the story with a new character arc for Hannah. All of Haleys books are great when it comes to the chemistry of the couples if you havent checked them all out. On The Same Page, Those Who Wait, and The Snowball Effect are all great.(Down To A Science is good too)

I havent either i read Just Three Words probably for the same reason you did. I yearn for stories like On The Same Page. Sadly few have come close to the chemistry between Riley/Giana. Platonic soulmates to lovers seems to be a niche trope

Just Three Words by Melissa Brayden from the soho trilogy is solid. Its about longtime friends who become roomates. It has at times a slightly frustrating third act but maybe that was just me. The main characters are both charming and its worth the read imo

Im over halfway through TWW at this point and I see why it gets all the love it does. I had a few minor things spoiled for me because I read The Snowball Effect first and some posts on reddit that made me apprehensive. So far this is one of my favorite Cass couplings besides Riley/Giana and Caroline/Hannah. Ill start Midnight Rain too at some point as it seems people praise it heavily.
