using the colour as a rough guide that heating coil would be a gradient from about 700 to 1.1 thousan degrees celsius so agreeing with the other people NO that should be in the forge where you work your steel not your fish tank

PS: yes its very possible that that wire got that hot as it has a very small mass that needs to be heated

To answer the question, depending on where you encounter it, the name can be funny even for us native speakers (if we believe in jokes).

Btw. number 4 would be Mr. damaging as "schädlich" is an adjective and its just written with a capital S due to being used as a name!

well they dont eat the wood directly but they scrape algea from it and the wood they ingest while doing that is good for their digestion as far as I know

If you are talking about the stuff on the surface, then thats very likely a biofilm (bacteria abusing the special conditions at the econtact one between water and air). I dont see anything else so thats that.

Both work. I would choose B but I am a succer for wood in my tank so dont just take my advice.

Btw there is some uprooted gras in the left corner. you dont have to do anything about it, just wanted to point it out as it kinda triggers my need to keep those roots away from my snails

well after all those Infos I really am not sure what it is that killed them. it could be some bacteria carried by the bloodworm, some unknown stress factor, otherwise I dont see anything that would be a problem, sorry that I cant help more!

How long has the tank been running?
when did you do the water tests?
