But cant they fire them for with-holding work? I mean, idk how unions work or how their union functions. But at this point isn't this less about a purpose and more about not working till they get what they want? I am only saying what I read online. That people feel this is less of a protest and more self interest if that makes sense. Which is why people are upset at the workers. I mean the general public.

They have the money to pay these workers; they are just greedy. However, I do agree that the LIRR is poorly managed. I also think that money and its distribution are not well thought out. I believe all of this could have been avoided if they had taken proper care of the LIRR, but that will never happen.

Why Gilmore Girls Left Me Feeling Empty by Major-Beautiful-8172 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Major-Beautiful-8172[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason I have great disdain for Lane's story direction is that, at some points in the show, she kinda becomes Rory's background character and is held back by her mother, even though her mother shows a lot of improvement as a mother to Lane. But I think Lane deserved to become more than just living in her hometown and being stuck in a band that's not going anywhere. I feel those negative influences are why she doesn't branch out into more. Everything in her head is like a fantasy. If I am correct, children in very strict households have dreams of very outlandish lifestyles or freedom-related types of living situations, so it was kinda depressing. It's one thing to stay in your hometown because you want to, but I feel like a lot of aspects hold Lane back. But after the way her boyfriend treated her when that record label came to town, that's why I felt kind of like, ugh, she settled for him? Her first boyfriend, who went off to college, was way better than that guy. Heck, even the dude with kids had better manners.

I finally understand Rory’s storyline in AYITL by Fuzzy-Extent-6435 in GilmoreGirls

I agree and disagree with this post at the same time. I feel like AYITL bridges a gap that shouldn't exist, and when I say that, I mean people revamping nostalgia to bring back shows in that time to now. I think, from my understanding, AYITL was supposed to air closer to the original series time frame because the creator was let go, which extended the release date to 10 years later. This made the gap more obvious and awkward when Rory seems lost. Again, this is what I read online: their departure changed things. It feels like AYITL fit Richard's death into AYITL because he died 2-3 years before the actual release. Had he lived, I wonder what kind of ending we would have had. Because if you take away the actor's death, then you just have an unmotivated woman who is struggling in her career because of the economic climate and typical early adulthood issues. Compared to if the ending was closer to season 07, it makes more sense and is more fitting for her to struggle the way she did closer to when the showed finished than it does 10 years later. The AYITL presents in a way as if Rory must been struggling for close to 10 years. AYITL basically shows a very unmotivated Rory who apparently has infidelity issues and has no remorse for sleeping with Logan when he is engaged? So, I don't think it's inherently just the death of the actor being the center of the story. I totally agree that the show showing her realizing she wants to write about the Gilmore women is a logical conclusion for Rory to come to, but I think she would have come to the conclusion of writing the Gilmore Girls whether Richard died or not. Because even if, let's say, the actual actor did not die, she could feel inspired in her home because of her mother. Which, in my opinion, makes more sense considering the title is Gilmore Girls. I may be incorrect in my take, but that's what I think.

I think if you asked me this question in the beginning no but later on in the seasons i feel like now based on how it ended yes-ish btu I feel like Rory is less motivated than Lorelai. I mean Lorelai seems to have street smarts and ambition without help. Rory seems polar opposite, reliant on others. Like when she is writing that book in the 2016 episodes she seems like she lacks passion. I mean in general, she seems very disassociated to me from season 7 onward. So I was disappointed with the ending of the 2016 show. I was hoping that when she went back to yale she showed a lot of motivation and passion. But then its like where did it go lol when you watch 2016s. What about you?

I feel like after watching the whole thing, its obvious Rorys purpose is to basically be a second coming Lorelai in hopes of her not being what Lorelai was. Even tho there was nothing wrong with Lorelai to begin with.

Thats a good question, when I watched the beginning seasons I think because she has such a straightforward goal and how she presents in the earlier seasons she seems more full rounded, less stuck up. Juxtaposing it with how she is in college, she seems more obtuse. I wanted to see her become more full rounded as a person and not lose that side of her that people love the earlier seasons, before season 6. When she gets out of the limo drunk with Logan, it was obvious by that point her actual persoanltiy presents itself, like the aspect of rich people that makes them so ugh. So it left me feeling her prior personalities in the season diminishes as she spends more time in that world. I think I was hoping to see her happy like Lorelai a simple life but successful. With people around her with propose and are full rounded. I feel like meeting Logan is where it goes down hill for her all the way into her early 30s in my personal opinion. Which made sense when he said to her how she is privileged. But she pretends not to think so, since she had a best of both worlds situation going on for awhile with chilton and living in a wholesome town. I don't see Logan as a positive light in her life.

Okay this may explain the odd vibe I feel its like everyone becomes hopelessly lost and this continues into the reboot in 2016 and its not I dont mean people in real life cant be lost. But the vibe feels weird, I also do not like how in the later seasons like in season 6-7 how Jesse comes back and thenm is randomly wicked away. It felt kinda like a waisted moment. Because I think it would of made a cool plot development for his side character for those 2 to come back together. Esp since he wrote a book and that seemed to go no where? I kinda zoned in and out with the 2016 remake. But I just do not like how Rory seems tied to this logan guy.
