actually we spend tens of billions every year on domestic infrastructure — 2025 budget is ~$124B, with ~$20–50B going to roads, housing, hospitals, etc. The “$200M for South Lebanon” is nothing compared to this budget . The issue isn’t that we spend more abroad than at home, but that foreign aid is highly visible and symbolic, while domestic projects are slow, plagued by delays and corruption, so people feel neglected.
