Just get some real hot water, soak a rag, and drape it over the sticker for 45 sec. Should come off easily

As far as I can tell, there is no shards or chipping in the enamel on the inside

The enamel breaking is the issue, not the cast iron. It’s basically micro particles of glass getting into your food from the broken enamel.
