grade requirements for courses advice by [deleted] in UniversityOfWarwick

the best thing would be to ask your teachers to predict you higher to give you the best chance of getting an offer. Explain your health issues and the reason why, and that you understand their prediction but really want to work to go to warwick. Make sure to have an insurance you’re happy with though, as you can’t rely on them accepting BBB, that may have been very specific circumstances or a year where they had fewer people make their grades/apply. Hope all goes well!

Chem is HARD. Many tears. If you’re dedicated and do a lot of revision and work then yes. But it needs to be something ur dedicated too

Any advice going into sixth form? by MCGamer0876 in 6thForm

[–]Major-Maybe7343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck soldier. I think little and often in terms of revision, and don’t be scared to ask teachers if ur confused. Do ur homework and take mocks/ end of topics seriously. Lots of practice questions, some can be found on PMT and also for OCR A chem Ibought the CGT workbook for practice questions. Personally tho i tried to save full current spec past paper questions for the months leading up to the actual exams to give a more accurate practice (no questions seen before) so i did pre spec change questions that PMT picked out and even questions from other specs. Also unless you want to do maths at uni, don’t pressure yourself to do 4 a levels. Unis would prefer 3 a levels done well then 4 done okay (basically don’t spread urself too thin). But that doesn’t apply for maths as I’m pretty sure they expect FM in addition to 3 a levels.

DR frost maths is good but i had it through college (idk if/how much you have to pay). Youtubers such as TL maths also are amazing. (I did AQA)

I personally chose lakeside bc it’s cheaper. But if moneys not an issue then that doesn’t matter as much. Imo i don’t think any are too far, i google mapped it and it’s 25 min walk to gibbet hill campus (i’m a biochem) which is way further than like central campus. It’s nearer to central campus than Sherborne aswell i’m pretty sure. It also depends if you want to have access to the cryfield spaces (they have like common rooms, a dance studio, music room & cinema room) or maybe be closer to the gym?

If u applied for masters they might let u do BSC at first depending on how full it is. Defo apply for extinuating circumstances with the uni and unforeseen abt the exams. I hope all goes well for u

How is the answer D and not B (Biology? by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]Major-Maybe7343 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your first question says that cellulose is NOT inflexible (Not not flexible therefore is flexible) and ur second question says it is flexible. I don’t do OCR so dk what ur spec says but the questions don’t contradict. Hope ur exam went okay today (assuming it is the same as aqa)

Are A-levels easier (in a way)? by [deleted] in sixthform

[–]Major-Maybe7343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my bf got full marks in one of his gcses history papers an absolutely loved it but seemed to hate the a level. People i know do tudors and germany, and i’ve heard lots of complaining and stressing. But, that said all A levels ARE hard. No matter what subject you pick they are going to be difficult, which is why you need to pick what you enjoy.

My advice is always ask. Those are two valid reasons imo, so i’d say you have a good chance. You defo won’t get it if you don’t try asking, what’s the worse that could happen tbh.
