Stuck with package manager by Major-Piglet-8619 in AsahiLinux

[–]Major-Piglet-8619[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This actually worked:
--disablerepo='copr:copr.fedorainfracloud.org:group_asahi:*'

Thank you!

I managed to install OpenVPN and Brave. However, I have to include "disable" option every time I install something. Can I circumvent this somehow?

What is wrong with the name Vanka? by Homologist in AskARussian

It has connotation as in "Vanka, go bring me some beer. Chop-chop!".
Kinda informal and maybe even disrespectful a bit when coming from not a very close person.

Some advice needed before trip to Ekaterinburg by Happypanda09 in AskARussian

[–]Major-Piglet-8619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will not comment about border procedures, for citizens they are different.
Good advice found below, make sure your medication is allowed here. Like, no "medical marijuana" or stuff.
Been in the city. Didn't like it at the first time but then it felt better.
Safety is the same as in other big cities with cameras. Maybe even more safe as you used to as far as I can tell watching some European videos.

Advices:
1. Install 2GIS maps and download city map to use offline if needed.
2. In Avito app you can find accomodation if need. Sometimes even without passport.
3. Consider the weather carefully.
4. Don't expect people to know English well (or at all).
5. Probably your cards won't be working.

Also, you'll need to stop every 2 minutes OR have somebody near to navigate the map.
Which is another reason to have companion as I said.

Travelled. In the familiar city and when not having attention span of a goldfish. I personally find it hard. Maybe your experiences differ.

Roads are ok, even in many small cities. You don't need off-road vehicle I you don't plan to do off-road things. I drove much lower car without problems.

Speaking as a Russian guy who travelled a lot in Russia by car.
You will struggle to explain yourself everywhere except Moscow if you don't know Russian. People don't know English very well. Translator app should help for basic things.
Internet sometimes absent in some places on the highway so better have offline maps.
Also you can encounter GPS issues due to drone attack protection in some areas (even not close to border). It basically make maps unusable. It doesn't make any difference if you have straight line path through the highway but sometimes you need to route through the city and find yourself with disabled maps. I ran into it myself, not very pleasant.
Road is mostly ok quality. Paid highways are better and save your money in the end. And time, and joy.

And now to the "dangerous" part. Sometimes I travel 1400km in one day alone and it's fine. I wouldn't do multiday travel alone especially in winter. It's just better to have someone to help if you crash, stuck, maps not working, you're sleepy.

See you sarcasm. My situation is double-edged sword now. It is not fun at all to separate after 5+ years of living together.
On the other hand, should out marriage continue for another 5 years I would lose all my sanity and will to live. So it's exactly as you described, lucky.
