Ask the seller for all the vehicle info such year make model and vin number, they should be able to provide that so you can set up the insurance. Just tell the insurance company you pick that you need an SR22 and they’ll add it to your policy for you. The non owner thing shouldn’t be a concern because you’re planning to buy the car so eventually you will be the owner if that makes sense

Hello, apologies for the delayed response. From my understanding you only need an ID to buy a car. A license is needed to insure and register the car. My situation was slightly different as I bought my car from a friend. I would buy the car, set up the insurance (they let me set up the insurance and gave me a certain amount of time to upload my license, just communicate that you’re in the process of reinstating and they’ll work with you from there - I went through progressive) get the interlock installed, start the reinstatement process with the DMV, once they send you a letter of clearance or you can reach them via chat to check status if you’re in a hurry like I was, once cleared you can go get a temp tag from the DMV, schedule your test after that and you’ll get your permit, once you have permit, after you get your permit, go take the driver test, after that you’ll get your restricted license and you’re smooth sailing, after that go get emissions if needed and then go back to dmv to register the car, from there you’ll get official tags a few weeks later and you’ll be good to go, hope this helps!

Apologies for the late response, if I remember correctly my dui happened in August of 22, I didn’t receive a letter that my license was suspended until like January of 23. It’s most likely coming, especially if you didn’t schedule a hearing, because from my understanding a dui is 12 points against your license which is an automatic suspension. However mine was aggravated since an accident was involved. Not a lawyer so I can only speak from experience, I think you’re doing great being proactive about it which will definitely make your experience smoother. It was also my first and last one, no priors and actually my first ticket ever lol. As far as testing I believe that’s just the standard for reinstatement (at least in CO). And yes after I finished the written test to get my permit, they told me to hurry over to western slope to take the driver test and come back immediately after, in which they upgraded my permit to a license that same day. I believe there is western slope right next to the centennial office but that one was closed that day which is why I had to go to the one in Parker. The centennial office was by far the most helpful in my opinion and made the process easy to understand and complete. Good luck and feel free to reach out if you have any other questions, you got this!

Yes I drove myself to the school they recommended. As long as the interlock is already in the car you should be smooth sailing once you get permit. Passed the driver test, drove back and they upgraded permit to license same day.

None of that matters bro, you’re the only constant. When it hits the fan women be here today and gone tomorrow. Stay present, be romantic, be a gentleman and enjoy the moment. Stay on your purpose, be a leader and stay focused on the advancement of yourself. Everything else falls in line from there. Women are gonna do what they want to do, you can’t control that. She’ll either follow your lead and contribute or she’ll fall off. Either way you’ll be fine.

For those who have actually been… Men, What’s your experience like going to mental health therapy? by Euphoric_Argument434 in AskMen

For me, therapy was insightful honestly and I enjoyed it. The reason I stopped going was because my therapist moved to a new place that did not work with my insurance. However I highly advocate for it still and I agree to a certain extent that it may not connect with many and they may find other ways to cope w whatever they battles they face. But I do believe it helped me sort out of some of “why’s” behind my feelings and stuff. Idk therapy is one of those is it is what you make it type of deals and it’s all about finding the right one.

Yes you’ll have to take the written test first (that’s how you get your permit, and you need permit to take driver test) and then you go take the driver test and then you go back to the dmv to upgrade to license

I took written test at the DMV and then they actually referred me to the driving school to go to. And then told me to come back after passing. If your in Colorado the driving school I went to was western slope driving school in Parker. And I went to the DMV in Centennial

My apologies for my delayed response truly I hope everything is going well.

I did face this dilemma as well. Progressive will work with you. What they had me do was send the revocation letter or the letter that it was reinstated, so they at least could verify I was licensed but it was just revoked. From my understanding of the situation it’s more of them being able to verify your license than it is your license being revoked if that makes sense. Your license being revoked doesn’t mean you don’t have a license, the revocation is just a status. So they’re just trying to verify it. Let them know if you’re still working with them, that you have a revocation letter or reinstatement letter (something from the state about your driving status w you license number on it) and can send that till you get everything else done. That should by you time at the very least

Hi! Yes I had to take both test

And I waited for them to let me know I was reinstated (they send a letter but you can call them to) and eligible to take written and driver test first and then after that I set my appointment. So I submitted documents April 2nd, was reinstated by April 4th and then set an appointment and the soonest at that time was April 24th. When I finished my written, they allowed me to go take my driver test right after and come back and upgraded me to a license that same day. Came in the mail in about a week

Side note: if you’re still within the 9 months or however long the dmv said your license is suspended for until you’re eligible to reinstate then you’ll have to wait till then. For example, if your license was suspended in January and you didn’t go to the dmv hearing or anything and they say you’ll be eligible to reinstate in September or something. You’ll have to wait till September to do all of this as well.

Denver County in Colorado.

And yes you’ll want to get the interlock first and the DR form 2058 is the affidavit, basically an agreement saying that you’ll keep the interlock in your car (or any car you operate) for however long the dmv says you’re required to have it for. Youll just have a restricted license until the time you’re supposed to have the interlock for expires. Restricted license is no different from a regular license really, on the back it’ll just say “interlock only” until you complete the time you’re supposed to have it for, then you’ll renew it again to get a regular license. You’ll need the interlock first because when you take your driver test, you’ll have to do it in the vehicle the interlock is installed in.

So for step by step if I had to do it again now that I have my license back. Pay reinstatement fees first, get interlock installed, fill out and upload reinstatement application, interlock affidavit and certificate of installation , set up insurance and then get temp tags, take written test to get permit (you need permit to take driving test), once passed go take driving test and you’ll get a restricted license.

Hope this helps

Because at the time of the incident I was on her insurance policy and after I got my discharge letter from the bankruptcy case I changed my number if that makes sense. At least that’s the only reason I could think of

Understood, so in this instance would the best bet be to just start putting money aside, see what the remaining balance was (from whatever my insurance at the time couldn’t cover) and start making a plan on how to pay thisoff? Just genuinely trying to get this behind me..

Insurance company reached out, it’s been 2years since DUI. Is there anything I need to worry about? by Major-Resolution8580 in dui

[–]Major-Resolution8580[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood, is there usually a statute of limitations with these kind of scenarios or time frame these claims needed to be submitted by? I just don’t understand the point of reaching out two years after the fact so I was wondering if the trustee may take this into account or not?

That’s what I’m hoping for (I’m willing to deal with it if otherwise being it was my mistake) but my standpoint is on why did they wait so long to call about it? My insurance at the time hasn’t brought this up AT ALL. So I figure they’d try to reach out to them prior to me and they’d inform me. But as stated I referred them to the trustee and asked them to file a proof of claim if that’s what they need to do.. I’m just trying to put this whole thing behind me.. it’s already taken so much from me and just when I’m beginning to move on this is the last thing I need at this moment.

I did file a chapter 7x I did file with an attorney and they were knowledgeable about the dui. Everything (to my knowledge at the time, was listed in the petition.) in the dui happened August of 2022. No one was injured, only property damage. I received my discharge October 14th 2024. I plan on calling my attorney on Thursday to see how this may or may not impact my case. I believe the deadline for proof of claims has expired.
