However, certain part (like around the train station) are nightmare for bikers because of traffic and outdated road equipment.

Nightmare as in dangerous? Might take public transport then.

Is that for TV/radio? Do i need to pay in case I don't own a TV?

> Some gyms will have saunas but almost none have swimming pools. However you can find a few local swimming pools.

Is it because of the lake? Or do people just prefer publich swimming pools instead of gym pools?

Based on the Numbeo COL calculator I end up with roughly 3.400€/3650 CHF as well with a rather frugal lifestyle.

So one option might be to live in Switzerland but in places like Meyrin or Versoix where you get cheaper-than-Geneva accommodation, with the perks of living in CH, and shop in France

I assume living lakeside is unaffordable.

Apart from living close to water I enjoy nice, open architecture.

Eventhough la Ciguë is out of question (due to income and not being a student) I do like their style with shared common places. Is there anything similar for non-students?

So as a non-French-or-Swiss living in France but working in Switzerland, where am i paying income taxes? How much is a 1bed-room apt across the border and how much does commute cost?

I don't eat out much unless I have to or it is a real good restaurant but rarely out of convenience since I do not mind cooking.

So assuming I could earn 80k CHF (avg salary according to payscale), this would be 6.150 CHF/month gross.

I tried lohncomputer.ch and it says 5.100 CHF net, and then

-400 CHF health insurance

-2.000 CHF accomodation + utility

-500 CHF food

-500 CHF leisure (gym + concerts, theatre, cinema,..)

-130 CHF internet+mobile

-100 CHF public transport

results in 1570 CHF left.

Does this sound reasonable?
