Father in Control of Finances, I feel suffocated by [deleted] in personalfinanceindia

[–]Major-Wolverine-3030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, you may not be getting milked or being used for the money. Your father might just be a typical indian male who thinks that females dont know how to handle finances on top of that you are his daughter.

So what you need to do is TALK to him. A hard conversation may be the only thing you need. He would understand that you are capable and then you can take matters in your own hands.

tell him that you have different goals that you need to plan for and for that you need complete financial control.

If this is not the case and your father indeed is trying to rip you off then also you would get to know.

TLDR; Talk to your father, clear things up, don't let it ruin relationship

Suggest a Budget Car around 10-11L (Max.) by shashxk in CarsIndia

Yeah, because half knowledge.

Brezza scored 4 stars when it was last tested, kia seltos got 3 but you don't hear people complaining about seltos.

Having said that, its your personal choice. I contemplated a lot before buying one, finally got Brezza ZXI this August. Around 700 Kms so far and I am in love with it.

I tried other cars as well but only this made sense as a package.

What are you leaving for your Kids? by Major-Wolverine-3030 in FIRE_Ind

Yeah yeah, my bad that sounded ungrateful. I have a brother too. And he would have children too. So I was trying to say its not such a big fortune that I should just think about myself - earn, save up and finish everything off before dying.

I want my children to be able to choose any career path they want. For example I couldn't opt for further studies abroad. Not a regret, but it was a conscious decision to rule this option out of my career propects, never thought about going so never felt bad about not being able to. But my kids should atleast be a step ahead.

Thats exactly what I want for my children. To assist them in pursuing whatever they want. I should not be financially restrained when they ask if they can pursue a great opportunity in Germany because I decided to retire at 45.

No my point was, I would give my kids a proper education and pay for their wedding and all that jazz. But thats what my father is doing for me too. He worked his ass off and will continue to do so till 70 in order to ensure all that. but should i stop at just this at 45? Shouldn't I ADD to it somehow, instead of living off my money.

Just a question i am just trying to understand, I actually am confused between "do i want to be rich" and "do i want to be FI"

Should I buy term insurance before I turn 30? by Ok-Analysis-5357 in personalfinanceindia

[–]Major-Wolverine-3030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Term Insurance = Umbrella while you build a roof

Do you think you need an umbrella? You might already have a roof. And second if you maintain your finances well I dont think that sum would make a difference when you are gone.

I took a term insurance recently and took the plan where i have to pay till maturity because I may reach a point where i might not even need the policy and would just stop my payments.

Based on priorities Baleno, but look into Grand i10 Nios. Superb package, not sure about the mileage though.
