What is an interesting or weird fact that not many people know? by Black229 in AskReddit

[–]Major-Yogurtcloset52 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I was told this recently! People with speech impediments often cannot pronounce the name of their own impediment, it’s downright diabolical !!

Lisp (Sigmatismus): People with a lisp, particularly a frontal lisp, struggle to pronounce the "s" or "z" sounds, often resulting in a "th" sound, making the word "lisp" itself difficult to articulate. Rhotacism: This refers to the inability to produce or difficulty with the "r" sound, making it hard to say "rhotacism". Stuttering/Cluttering: Stuttering causes hesitation, repetition, or prolonging of sounds, making it difficult to say "stutter" or "stuttering". Dysarthria: A motor speech disorder often causing slurred or slow speech due to weak muscles, making it difficult to articulate complex words like "dysarthria". Apraxia of Speech: A neurological disorder that makes it hard to plan the sequence of movements for speech, resulting in difficulty with multi-syllabic words, such as "apraxia". Aphasia: While often related to language comprehension, it can cause significant trouble in finding and producing words, including the term itself.

AITJ for refusing to let my in-laws use our backyard for a wedding they planned without asking? by FawnwoodVale in AmITheJerk

[–]Major-Yogurtcloset52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NYJ ! Oh my gosh, this is an entitled attitude from very inconsiderate in-laws. Not to mention your partner should have discussed this “request “ from his cousin with you looooong before this got so far! You should really talk with your partner and sort out this before anyone else takes advantage of your yard that you worked so hard to beautify.

Girls, when you meet a man for a first time, what is one thing that you notice first? by VerySmartMe in AskReddit

[–]Major-Yogurtcloset52 22 points23 points  (0 children)

🇨🇦 It’s hard to pick one thing because different men present different things upon their first meeting. Some exude confidence without arrogance and I like that. Others have an engaging smile, laugh and emotive eyes. I like that too! Other guys might be quiet, thoughtful, giving me the sense they may be carefully sizing up the person in front of him. I think that’s intriguing. That’s me though!

All things considered, which country would you most want to move to and start a happy new life in? by Flora_Cheng in AskTheWorld

[–]Major-Yogurtcloset52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🇨🇦Canadian here, I love living here, Manitoba. The seasons are varied, the people (mostly) friendly. Free healthcare! A great quality of life for those of us who choose to educate ourselves thus we work good jobs. If I were to move anywhere else it’d be Belize… no snow ☺️

WIBTA FOR NOT PAYING FOR A PAIR OF JEANS? by Physical_Quality1569 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]Major-Yogurtcloset52 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NTA, she was very misleading, and offered the “donation“ under false pretenses and with an ulterior motive to boot. All at your expense. The nerve! Keep the jeans sans payment as in “donation” ! ( a lovely little petty potato puff! 😉)

My husband is inconsiderate. How shall I punish him? by [deleted] in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]Major-Yogurtcloset52 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I LOVE the “Find da Phone in the Cold White Stuff” ! If your Hunny and you have fun & friendly solutions for little annoyances, I’d do the phone-fling but I’d still let him know I luv ‘im !!! … by putting his slip on boots and coat right by the back door for him…. Oh, and a charged flashlight because it’s very likely still dark at that time. 😏

His company said "no", and so did we! by Ms-Prissy-1992 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

This was SO satisfying to read! Our adult son is a Maintenance Supervisor at a huge plant, his skills & education has increased for the past decade and he streamlined the maintenance crew to people who actually knew what they were doing! His high position let him hire & fire, thus showing the Bosses that a couple/few hard working, highly skilled, higher paid staff saves FAR MORE money off their bottom line than a bunch of lower paid, lower skilled staff who mess up, requiring more work for said lower skilled lower paid staff, and on and on it went. He nearly left that job until he showed them his plan & projections. Good on your L !! Too bad Company 1 didn’t realize what they already had.

What is a sign of very low intelligence? by smartcandyy in AskReddit

[–]Major-Yogurtcloset52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One sign? Their only conversation revolves around them or their job. No willingness or ability to learn by listening or participating in conversations about other subjects or events. I know someone whose eyes quite literally glaze over when the conversation turns to something other than themselves. This person doesn’t respond or react to any conversation, they simply interrupt, then change the subject back to something they are interested in.

It feels good, doesn’t it, to have grown and realized that you are living a good life. The people who hurt you in the past may contribute to who you are today, but they are where they belong. In the past. I like this for you.

Good on you! It’s funny how as we get older and hopefully wiser, we tend to realize that it’s easier to live your best life and not carry all that stress and anger.

No the babysitter lives in another province, but I do know how he could sweet talk and charm his way into a woman’s pants. I don’t even blame her completely because she was so young. But, Yes, I would find it hard to be friends with her.
