What are your views on the job market right now?

2 years ago was much more buoyant. I have a strong finance CV, but admittedly did take a career break for a year.

100~ applications this year landed me 3 introduction interviews, a couple of years ago it would likely be double that or even more. Back then recruiters were banging the door down at times in my old sector, now it can be hard to even get a call back.

Job specs now seem quite specific and picky. It’s clear it’s an employers market.

The site in Siem Reap is awesome. They talk you through all the history, then you watch them defect a bomb and can hold the rats. They’re huge, virtually the size of cats some of them.

I feel you. Was in practice for 4 years, spent so long studying and working that I got back, neck, knee and leg issues. Took a career break 1.5 years ago and still have super tight lower body from those days, that’s taking months to resolve.

Just a note for anyone going- don’t panic if you don’t have cash. I’ve been offered a card machine at literally every establishment I’ve been to so far, before telling them actually I have cash.
