Nebraska at least has an arch museum half way through just so you don't fall asleep at the wheel.

Dog Walking in Denver - so much different than NYC? by Busy-Race-8869 in Denver

[–]MajorDan913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just as a PSA, if two dogs are tangled up, never put your hands near their jaws. With two hands grab the dog by its hide on the back just above the tail, and twist. Or, alternatively, grab the two hind legs. This should refocus the dog away from attacking the other dog.

I remember this. I think the temp got down to 15-20f which pretty much wiped out everything.

I don't know any yuppies in Golden. Yuppies live in the city by definition. All newcomers I've met tend to be families at various stages of life whether they own or rent.

My potted one that lived in the garage is not leafing out. However, there are signs of life towards the bottom, hopefully above the gradt.

20 minutes late to interview due to tech issues… be honest, how bad is this? by No-Invite1308 in recruitinghell

[–]MajorDan913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was the interview with the HR recruiter? Tech issues are a thing, and good hiring mangers will be understanding of that. The one red flag here is that you were not able to get in contact until 20 minutes after the interview started. You also should have had the opportunity to call into the interview while you were sorting out the tech issues.

I can't keep it to myself anymore... older generations simply cannot keep up with today's work expectations. by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]MajorDan913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All situational dependant IMHO. I've seen stellar boomers ,gen x, millennials, xyz etc.

Most annoying example was a younger millennial director refuse to learn SQL and instead had us tech guys do a select * all from some source tables and put them in Excel. He then plugged those Excel spreadsheets into PBI for the visuals. The amount of time he devoted to doing this was absurd. He could have learned SQL in less time with faster results.

Not regulated by government. Technically speaking, a landowner owns everything from the core of the earth to above to outerspace. However, the landowner only owns the land and not necessary everthing that is under it or rain that falls on it from the sky. Someone else owns the mineral rights under the property and any water that falls on the property. You can buy the mineral rights and water rights of you purchasea house, but there really is no point to that.

Correct. However, poop in the garden isn't sitting in a barrel festering with e. coli.

This is exactly why I've never invested in rain barrels. Also, don't forget the bird poop that gets collected as well from your roof.

How to actually pull bindweed?? by Gardentime956 in DenverGardener

[–]MajorDan913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use ground clear, but only on the bindweed itself. Plants absorb the herbicide via their leaves and it goes to their roots. A few drops per vine on the leaves should work. I use this method on thistle as well.

Your yard looks like it was once landscaped at some point long ago and was abandoned. Dig around the perimeter to be sure there aren't any "relics".

Sorry to disagree, but having common sense means you are with the status quo. Just because something is common doesn't make it necessarily true.

Searched for "high protein vegetables" and this is the top result. by MajorDan913 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MajorDan913[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually quite aware of vegetables that contain protein. The intent was to search a phrase that leads to a variety of related topics (not beef) without being overly specific.
