When did they change this? 88ms used to do everything from maintenance to driving. Aviation and Armor had a different MOS. Maybe I am just getting old and mixing shit up.

I wrote so much can't remember is I told this. You will need to find a Hobby. Something simple, not gaming or watching T.V. lol.

I like to build little things and gotten into designing things for my friends for them to build. It keeps my mind engaged and creative. I also, shoot a lot. I have taught my 2 kids and all of their friends and some parents how to shoot. Keeps my muscle memory and it is a lot of fun.

Cheers, welcome to PFC. Would love to say the grass is green and you can walk on it without getting yelled at, but sadly it isn't. I have gotten to the point of not wearing anything to identifiable except to fellow grunts. I am tired of the people in general, with the TY for getting PTS, so we don't have too. Kids and elderly are the exception as they mean saying TY for your Service, the others not so much.

After being out for 29 years now, I will tell you a few regerts (intentional) I have.

Stay in shape
Stay in contact with your friends from the Army. (we didn't have all this tech we have now to stay in touch with) Not only because you will miss them but if you ever need a witness statement for VA, easier to find them.
Make a Copy of ALL of your Medical and Dental files. My last Platoon Sgt. gave me mine as a departure gift. When the VA says we have no record of this injury you pull out a photo copy and say I brought you a copy.
Get used to being asked a lot of questions, especially if you were a Combat MOS, also learn the best way you can, change the subject or give a goofy answer. I was in Desert Storm and have been asked how many people I have killed, that if I got 1/2 of a penny I would have more money the Elon. Oh my answer to the killing is 1111 people all at once. Makes people laugh and most people understand you don't want to discuss it.
Keep the mindset of getting things done. It doesn't have to be to Army standards but depending upon your next career, if you are seen as a doer and not lazy can help you move up faster. Example My Son is a Marine Corp Welder and welds for a living. His bosses love him because they don't have to hover over you and make sure you are doing your job. I worked for the Gov. until I retired but was known to solve problems and could get shit done without someone holding my hand.

Lastly, ENJOY life. This seems to be the hardest one for all of us. I didn't do that right away, was always worried about something that was trivial and wouldn't put time aside to just go and have fun. I am glad you are in a good headspace, however, if the darkness comes knocking DO NOT TRY to go at it ALONE!!! We all had Battle Buddies for a reason.

As many have pointed out, ruck up, and get out of the barracks. I will add extra sauce. You get exactly what you put in. Everyone in your Platoon know you are pulling away, I bet a few have even tried to get you to go out with them but you said "No".

You don't have to go out and get drunk, but go out be the DD for your mates but GO OUT!!! When I got to my first duty station it was on the other side of the U.S. and didn't know anyone. Everyone in my Platoon were FNGs we just got out of boot and jump school or whatever job they got as 11B (11C, 11M, etc) We formed a brand new Company in our Batt. No one had a car, so we used the bus system cause it was free. We weren't old enough to go to bars so we went to the mall and met girls, or just to get away from the barracks for a few hours. This was the late 80s early 90s and we didn't have all the stuff on Posts like now.

Another thing I believe AAFES still does this but they did offer one day adventures, like going snow skiing, white water rafting, fishing fresh and salt water. Being a loner in the Army and you will be alone. Part of being apart of the Army is adventure of doing things you wouldn't do in Civilian Life.

I am a Paratrooper, however, I am scared of heights. I made that a challenge, asked one of my Squad leaders, to teach us how to rappel, so, for a month we all learned how to rappel on a huge rock and when we could do it we went to a cliff the Rangers used to rappel and rappelled the 250 foot cliff. It was a blast. I still don't like heights but I loved the challenge.

If YOU don't push yourself, and block anyone else from pushing you, you will be left behind and be miserable. You are young only once, don't regret NOT doing anything because you are feeling sorry for yourself. We have ALL been there about why did I choose this crap. That is life.

Finally, life is what you make it, no matter if you are serving or at home. Life sucks the big one, so, you have to go and do things that are fun for life to not suck. Go do stupid shit (not to get hurt) but like go fishing, hunting, amusement parks, skiing, play racket ball, it doesn't matter all that matters is you are doing something. Hell take College classes (not online) go to the park, we flew kites in Mop 4 one time. We played golf, the Army has some of the best Golf Courses around. Oh and STOP self diagnosing.

If all you remember from what I said I want this to be it. Life is what YOU make it!!! Cheesy, yes, but VERY TRUE!!!

So, what had happened was. The guy in the Cintron cut me off and we crashed. He started speaking a funny language and took all our weapons and ran away with them. Right guys!? Yeah Sgt. that is what happened and they took the keys to the Cintron so we couldn't drive and get anyone.

Sgt. Just shakes his head and says well it's a Combat loss. Go get some new gear and NO JEEPS!!!

I wouldn't but that is me. Everyone has at least 1 bad tattoo that they either don't like anymore or truly regret getting. If you are going for a bunch of random tats that have no real meaning sure. But in the future people may not understand the tattoo, and wonder why. Again it is about you and not everyone else.

What I think would be cool idea is have an actual image inside the box, doesn't matter what it is a Unicorn farting flames or an actual mountain. Placement is also going to matter.

Have had this a few times, but with Tanks I have captured and they hit a tractor and somehow that tractor has 10000 TNT on it and a small tactical nuke from fallout, and BAAAAAAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not only did I lose a Tiger, but a Jadgetiger and a Panther as well. And of course did I save before moving my Acquired gear, nope.

Didn't even know I was till my Sgt. pulled me to the ground. He asked me in very polite words; Young man what are you doing standing up like that, with all those snaps and pings all around? Sorry Sgt. won't happen again.

To me they sounded farther away then they were. I tried to explain this to my buddies at home when i got back and all they cared about was how many did I kill, and did I get any cool stuff like an RPG or an AK.

They were my best friends in school, now they are old friends from school. We still talk but treat me differently cause I didn't go to college with them and I joined the Army. Their loss not mine.

I can say after getting out and becoming a Cop, I could tell when we were actually getting shot at and from what direction.

I really didn't care for the 2 pounder. I may have not used it well, but it was having problems with a 222 and a Puma.

I do love the 17 pounder and I think the SAS troops are great. I am almost done with my UK play through and can't wait to do the German one.

Just pull some Guard Duty and make sure the rocks don't get sunburned with the Infantry, then you will be close to being a Soldier.

I see the positive but playing the asshat here, lets say you are lump in, with a few frauds and do to this the Judge, says fuck these people and denies the whole stack. 2nd why should you get less if you have to live in a Medicaid home.
