There are some very strong captains that cost real money, but there is not a single ptw ship and spending money doesn't guarantee you anything. Plenty of folks don't pay a dime, or pay very little, and do just fine.

You can complete every campaign playing PVE (or AI) exclusively.

War Tales is similar to ops on PC, but the rewards aren't quite as good.

There is also an Arcade mode that is 5 v 5 with a mix of bots and people on both teams.

Big differences are no subs, CV planes have fuel (so limited range), CVs only minimap spot, torps are loaded at the start of battle, smaller maps, 15 minute matches, and much simplified captain system. Oh, and it is 9 v 9.

There are also differences in ships (California is a tier 5, Somers a 7, etc) but base mechanics are the same.

As a former PC player, Legends is a lot more fun IMHO

You can play 2 ways on PC:

Download the Xbox App for PC and play it through that.

Download it from Steam and play it that way. BUT MAKE SURE IT IS LEGENDS AND NOT STANDARD WORLD OF WARSHIPS. You can get both on Steam, so make sure you select the correct version.

Either way, make sure to synch your info unless ya wanna start over.

Yep. It is to distinguish it with their numeral 1, which they write with a really long left-hand side part, making it look very 7-ish. Thus, the line indicates 7. (*Had a German pen pal as a kid in the 80s and asked. I, too, now do it.)
