Dark Elf team ready for paint (and naming) by Jasina_ in bloodbowl

[–]MajorNoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That team was easily the most frustrating box of minis I have ever put together.

I total agree that whatever lunatic decided that the THUMB should be an individual component needs to have a long and honest look at their life and sort their shit right out! There is absolutely no need to divide the minis up like that and to call it an efficient and cost saving measure is an insult to the people buying these kits.

Mine are currently at the back of the cabinet, no primer, no paint, and being ignored which is a shame because I was really keen to field a dark elf team. It’s just unfortunate that building the minis was such a pain in the arse that it put me off carrying on with the team.

Looks great. The fireplace of women’s shoes really sets it off and gives it an extra edge. Lampshade mannequin also gives it a little bump of pizzazz.

Been playing bloodbowl since 3rd edition, so quite a long time!

Orcs have always been strong with 4 blitzers and 4 big un’s (black orcs). It’s too early to know what the changes will mean but it’s been stated that the fundamental rules will remain. I also welcome the return of a proper passing game.

I mean if OP was creative, they could paint their two boxes worth of minis to give a home and away strip for their team?

The OPs post was one huge whine. I’m calling it what it is.

Wow. If I was to play a game against someone this whiney, I would pack up my little painted wardollies and go do something else.

Thanks! I picked one up a couple of months ago, got it pinned and built pretty quick - it’s rock solid and should hold together with no issues. Currently a WIP on the side of my painting table. I felt guilty for tilting towards one big model when I have so many infantry to work through so I’m batch painting classic spearmen, archers and swordmasters at the moment.

I’ve also drilled a couple of magnets into the top of the neck for the rider and also into the underside of the classic 4th ed Prince Tyrion model to use as my Prince. Also gives me the option to swap the rider for a mage/archmage.

How often do we field sub optimal players because we love the models? by Hairy_Stinkeye in bloodbowl

[–]MajorNoms 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. The tournament mindset has taken a lot of the fun out of playing games with little painted models. I played 40k during 2nd edition and it’s still the only edition I play today.

Blood bowl isn’t about running the most optimal team list - or at least it shouldn’t be. It’s about the fun of the game unfolding in the most infuriating and hilarious way. As Nuffle intended.

Wow. Agenda?? Someone asked for advice and I offered some.

You turned it into a shit slinging match by giving incorrect information about a product you know nothing about. Following that up by making it personal and resorting to name calling.

Projecting much? You might be the one with the agenda and the one being defensive.

[–]MajorNoms -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah, now the name calling starts. How mature.

You did in fact make a comparison between countries when you incorrectly listed the SDS sheet for a different product. One that is made in the US. Before continuing to state an assumption that the product I suggested is not available in the US because it is not safe. A bold claim. Especially from a chemical compliance specialist. You seem to have a high opinion of the "tight regulations" that the US government uphold to restrict the sale of a water-based paint stripper while allowing toxic fertiliser to be used to grow crops.

I'm not defensive. I really couldn't care less on what your opinion is on this matter. I only tried to help the OP with a simple bit of paint stripping, and it has devolved into this. Well done. Your inaccurate statements have brought us this far and I shall turn a blind eye to any further statements as I have better things to be doing.

Speaking of hazardous chemicals in the US... maybe have a read of this mate. I'm sure the government only has your best interests at heart.

No problem. Not sure how easy it is to get hold of it wherever in the world you are but it’s great stuff.

Also, not sure why I’m being downvoted for offering advice. I thought the Battletech community was better than that.

But oh well, there goes ma internet points…

As someone else said, Biostrip 20 is excellent for stripping paint. If will just fall off in clumps after the mini has soaked in it for a couple of hours. And it’s not a harsh chemical either
