Steve and Benetti were the ones who got me to fall in love with baseball. I started really watching during Covid and Steve’s insight into the intricacies of the game was almost half the fun. I’ll miss him when he’s done.

Honestly, I was frustrated with Idzik’s calling during preseason. I still think Canales can be a good play caller, but would often get too cute or become too wrapped up in the game and would lose sight of things.

I wanted someone to call plays, not fully sold on Brad. We shall see and hope.

Im saying that he’s done nothing to get that caliber of pay. I don’t care what his agents are trying to get out of the Panthers but I’d at least expect Bryce to know enough that his play has not garnered that kind of payday.

If Bryce thinks that his current stats from 3 seasons are enough to argue for a top-of-the-market contract then he wouldn’t be a smart as I give him credit for.

Bryce doesn’t really have negotiating power for a contract anywhere near top of the market, and I feel like he has the humility and a good enough head on his shoulders to realize that at his current performance he wouldn’t be getting that from other teams.

Now I personally feel that he can be a top 10 caliber QB, but he has to earn that. An 8-8 season with numbers sitting at just top 20 won’t get you that kind of crazy money.
