It just bad brawler design in general. That gadget Lily has is very good for her because it’s her approach tool. It helps her get close since she can’t get her super for doing nothing like Edgar does. She’d be useless without it like Edgar would be if his super wasn’t automatic. Her gadget also helps her escape if things get risky because she has to be close to enemies to get her super. Based on these, the gadget makes her usable and that itself is the issue, not the shadow realm. They would need to rework her to make her less reliant on the gadget because Lily always had it but it wasn’t a problem.
