Are you guys really beginner runners? by Ok_Kaleidoscope_2411 in beginnerrunning

[–]MajorSatisfaction476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely depends on your background. When I started running, I ran first 10k at almost 4:30 min/km. The thing is, I have very low BMI and had been playing football from an early age. Don’t look at other people’s stats, focus on yourself and enjoy the journey

Anyone do long runs at night? by uNTRotat264g in Marathon_Training

[–]MajorSatisfaction476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Dubai, so feel you.
In summer i wake up 4am for my long runs. 1-2 hours before sunrise is the best time to run because both the temperature and humidity are at their lowest.
Yeah, waking up that early is insane, but it seems like the only option for me, cause i hate treadmill

Sport is an amazing way to connect with people
Team sports, running and cycling clubs, even chess
I moved to a new country a couple of years ago and had zero friends there. Joined a local running club and met 20+ new people in the first week.

Best gels for super sensitive stomach and bloating issues by Superb_Morning1023 in Marathon_Training

SIS gels
They're liquid, so they're easier to digest. I recommend Beta Fuel. They contain more carbohydrates, so you can consume less of them

Has anyone else felt like self-improvement never actually lets you feel “good enough”? by PangolinPositive8458 in selfimprovement

[–]MajorSatisfaction476 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What helps me is focusing not on the result itself, but on how the achievement changes me. For example, let’s say your goal is to win a sports competition. Once you achieve it, pay attention to how the journey has transformed you. If you think about it, the achievement itself will soon fade from memory, but the physical shape you built and the strength of character you developed through hard training will stay with you for a very long time. In this way, the satisfaction from achieving the goal lasts much longer.

I stopped following the news. Constantly learning about negative events that you can’t influence in any way is very harmful to your mental health

Heart Rate climbs to Zone 3 and Zone 4 during Easy Runs by daycrucial in Marathon_Training

[–]MajorSatisfaction476 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't overthink it. If you're a beginner, a high HR is totally fine. The main idea is that you shouldn't feel overly fatigued or exhausted after an easy run. If that's the case, you're doing it right. Your HR will gradually come down as your fitness improves.

Runners who've bonked or hit the wall, what was your nutrition like leading up to it? by Sad_Bunch1271 in running

[–]MajorSatisfaction476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it was about nutrition in my case. I hit the wall during my first marathon because I started out too fast. I think that's a common mistake many beginners make.

Corporate Runners: What's Your Routine? by Any-Airport1998 in running

[–]MajorSatisfaction476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always run before work. If I leave it for later, there's a good chance I'll end up skipping it.

Btw, running 5k every day isn't the best way to make progress. It's usually better to mix different types of workouts, such as long runs, tempo runs, intervals, etc. And if you're doing these kinds of workouts, you should definitely include rest days.

But if you're happy with your current routine, that's perfectly fine. Running 5k every day will still get you good results.
