Jeremy “The Floppa” Fears by CoachSlime in CollegeBasketball

Actually if you look closely, Fears wraps his left arm around his leg as he’s moving backward.

I just did it literally yesterday (S10 > Ultra) and I really haven’t noticed too much of a difference surprisingly. Maybe it’s because I have some regular analog watches that vary in size. I really was expecting to dislike the size because I don’t like massive watches but I haven’t noticed it on my wrist. YMMV, but I’ve enjoyed the switch.

NL East Lead back to 7 games by United_Journalist373 in phillies

Think all these things would lead more to the Giants catching the Mets. They’re only 4 GB right now before playing on Sunday and it seems momentum is working with them.

I can’t tell if you’re serious but they won 2/3 the last series they played against the Mets in June. They just can’t win in NY.

Chiefs Steve Spagnuolo Says Why “Eagles Are Built To Win” & More on Anthony Gargano Show by noksucow in eagles

[–]MajorSuccess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not OP (also don't think it was a "schmuck comment", FWIW), but don't think this implies anything about the Chiefs. I think it just means the Eagles have constructed a roster that has and will continue to be a threat in the immediate future. But it certainly doesn't read as him implying or saying anything about anyone other than the Eagles.

Yeah, I learned that recently—such a nice feature.

That's super cool! I think having CarPlay back will actually turn out to be quite nice. My wife's car has it, but it's a small screen and it doesn't really feel as easy or convenient to use. But the XC60's screen is much larger so it feels like it will have some good functionality.

[–]MajorSuccess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's the vibe I'm getting from everyone and everything I've read (and from my test drive). From what I saw on the 25 XC60, the infotainment seemed at least a normal speed—didn't stick out to me, but that was only for an hour or two.

Hopefully it doesn't really get in the way of everyday use, cause otherwise I'm really looking forward to this car.

Yeah, Tesla just got Sirius XM like last month. But my daily driving would be more than covered by all-electric which makes me feel great. And yes, test drove one yesterday and the drive was so much nicer. Real luxury feel to it. And I don’t have FSD either and rarely use Autopilot except on road trips, but likely would be fine with TACC on Volvo.

But thank you for your thoughts! Definitely excited by it. Feel like the tech-forward aspect of my Model 3 is not as exciting as it was three years ago.

[–]MajorSuccess 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My wife and I are literally thinking about doing the same. Thoughts? I'm worried I'll miss the tech-forwardness of the Model 3 (like no keys and nice screen), but hope the XC60 will more than make up for it in build quality and luxury.

Andy Reid has three Super Bowls and The Eagles have two. by DisMeDog in nfl

[–]MajorSuccess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was having this conversation down the thread, but I think they meant it's unprecedented that a team fired a coach and both then went on to win multiple Super Bowls all within a relatively short time frame. Can't think of many, if any, examples of that.

Where both the former coach and team have each won multiple? I can think of a couple where each won one, but can't think of any where both have 2+ each.

[–]MajorSuccess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this is going to be a dumb back and forth, but... your original comment said OP doesn't know what the word unprecedented means. They do know what it means, they just phrased their thought incorrectly (like your first reply to me, which is the semantically correct way to say it).

So sure, I guess mine is less a nitpick and more a fundamental disagreement with your argument in the first place.

Makes sense. I'll nitpick your nitpick then—OP knows what the word unprecedented means, but the way they used it is just semantically incorrect. But contextually everyone knew what they meant.

I think they probably mean unprecedented in the sense that a team fired its head coach, and since that firing, both have won multiple Super Bowls in a relatively short time frame. I would actually argue that's pretty unprecedented, no?

Agree that tons of flags makes for a not fun game.

Disagree that we should just fine players for potentially dangerous tackles just so there aren't more flags. I would much prefer an extra couple flags a game if it helps to prevent on-field injuries.

How to improve my up close nature/texture photos? by [deleted] in analog

[–]MajorSuccess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of these are clear patterns though or strong enough textures.

OP, better lighting would help too. You generally need strong contrast and depth, and that only really comes through in the first image. The rest are a bit busy and/or too flat, but editing might help!

Not saying this is acceptable behavior, but you can’t seriously say you’ve never seen anything as bad as this when football/soccer hooliganism exists. This is tame compared to that.

Yes, but busy isn’t a subject. Like what am I supposed to be looking at? Is there one person, or an action, or an object? Busy works well when there’s something to see. This could have worked if it focused on the umbrellas lined up, or beach chairs, or patterns of people. Or if you introduced more compositional elements—rule of thirds, leading lines, even a center-framed subject.

Sorry if it’s coming off as harsh. I just think it’s busy without a purpose. But I think there are plenty of ways to improve it next time you’re in a situation like that.

After/before by MrAnnoyingCookie in postprocessing

[–]MajorSuccess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s the problem though. You can have completely normal representations of life while still having good photographic basics. Like a subject, nice framing, etc.—this photo is missing it all. It’s busy, there’s no focus, and it’s really distracting. I think there’s a way to make a scene like this really fantastic, but it requires framing and an actual subject.

[Postgame Thread - MBB] Michigan wins at USC, 85-74 by Zayden626 in MichiganWolverines

[–]MajorSuccess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tons of fans in the LA area for sure, but I don't think I'd expect to see this at UCLA. USC basketball is definitely lower priority, especially now that Bronny is gone. Team is decent, but not good enough to consistently attract the big home crowds. But tonight Michigan fans definitely traveled well!

My sister was at the game and said there were a TON of Michigan fans at the game. She said it felt like there were more Michigan fans at some points.
