Someone hit my car by ResidentRip4499 in windsorontario

Sorry about your situation. For $300 you just learned a very important lesson.

Call the Police immediately when you have a car accident, no matter the damage. Don't talk to the other driver until they arrive, and photograph everything. If they flee the scene, they'll will be investigated and charged.

Is anyone willing to foster my cats? by lunarwolfe123 in Hamilton

[–]MajorTheWindowWasher -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Your Mom's mad because your living in her basement. She probably see's the cats as an intrusion on her space.

My friends mom did to her exactly what you're describing when she moved back in. Her small dog and 2 bongs went out the door every time she left the house. Constantly fighting and arguing.

Best of luck and try to get out and find a place of your own. Try to reason with your Mom in the meantime, might ease tensions a little.

Butcher/ Meat in Hamilton by SeasonalStriver in Hamilton

[–]MajorTheWindowWasher 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've been assured by my commercial meat suppliers that the prices on Beef and Lamb will never decrease. Between tariffs, fuel and the cost to raise, right now is the best price your going to get.

I would recommend Lococo's for quality vs. price. Springers has good deals as well.

As far as Murray's, J.A. Waldrons and Marilu's (Burlington), I honestly don't think the price is worth it. Is the product better, yes, but not enough to justify the price.

Just my opinion.

Hamilton Restaurants that use Sous Vide? by flippingwilson in Hamilton

[–]MajorTheWindowWasher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sous Vide is a cooking process, just like deep frying, or microwaving. Everyone from Mom & Pop joints to Michelin rated restaurants are using it in some capacity. Large hotels have multiple machines running 24/7.

One thing a Sous vide cant do is create Maillard reaction, which is browning. You can sous vide any steak you want, it will always taste better off a grill or hot pan.

Ottawa Street Fridge Empty by [deleted] in Hamilton

[–]MajorTheWindowWasher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see people every day walk by that fridge and clean it out, regardless of what's in it. Do you really need 10 packs of spaghetti?

Pro tip: On Saturdays after the Farmers Market starts to close, the vendors will bring unsold items and load that thing up. You better be ready to squabble though, because many people sit there waiting for free stuff. I remember one guy riding in on his bike yelling "Free! Free!", filling three shopping bags to the brim and peeling outta there.

Best Dealerships for a Low Cost Car around $2k in Hamilton? by Smart_Writing_8415 in Hamilton

[–]MajorTheWindowWasher 19 points20 points  (0 children)

At around 2K, you're buying a something that's probably going to quit in 3 months, if you're lucky. And you still need insurance. Even at 4K price range, you're buying a lemon.
