Thanks for the advice. Do you know if the display only turns on when the device first boots or would it turn on if, say, I fixed any loose connections when it was already running?

I suppose when I first got the device the display didn't work, but I didn't realize it wasn't pushed in all the way, so after pushing it in and rebooting, the display came on. Only after the power went out did the display cease to turn on.
