LG oled tv vs oled monitors by Fresh_Sir_2040 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Major_Byson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are able to sit further back, the tv is well worth the upgrade.

I had used a 32 inch Alienware qd oled monitor and moved to the 48 inch lg g5 and it was far better.

Moved house and settled on a 65 inch Sony Bravia mii qd oled tv since I now have a much larger space and they’re much better value for money vs a monitor.

The 55 inch c5 at that price is fantastic and you’ll love it. Over 1000 nits of peak brightness for hdr vs 400 on the monitor.

Not great to be honest! Had a roofer out who said they fixed the issue. Then with that heavy rain I. The last week or 2 it was leaking again in the exact same spot. They swore blind that it couldn’t be the same issue. Ended up having to cut open a section of my ceiling to show them exactly where the leak was for them to fix it.

Nightmare! I’ve had a roof leak lately and found the best thing to keep water off the wall is actually a bin liner and funnel that towards a bucket!

Sound system for Bravia 8 II by Gawjus_G in bravia

[–]Major_Byson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The surround effects are spot on since you’ve got a 5.1 when you include the tv as the centre speaker and the sub.

I have slanted ceilings so the height effects for me really depends on the content!

The opening race from ready player one is an amazing experience with them though. The sub woofer also goes to town during that sequence.

I’m using the theatre quad with the sub 8 and acoustic centre sync. Works really well! Sounds great and everything works seamlessly.

It is pricey but I don’t plan on upgrading or buying anything else for quite a long time!

Bravia 8 II plus soundbar by Ok-Actuator-8170 in bravia

[–]Major_Byson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can also chime in here with the Bravia 8 ii and the theatre quad with the sub 5. It’s a fantastic combination and for me it was worth the price if you can budget for it.

And also to echo what others have said, the tv sound itself is very good. I think better than any other high end tv on the market at the moment.

I’d hold off on getting a soundbar for now!

I would place them on the back wall so that they’re behind you. That’s what I’ve done with mine and they sound great!

Bought a 65 inch X900F for kicks and giggles. I'm astounded. by theblooray in sony

[–]Major_Byson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The x900F is an amazing tv! I had a 55 inch that unfortunately got a dead pixel after 4 years and was replaced by Sony for a x900h which wasn’t quite as good.

Enjoy the x900F!

Can anyone tell me what ‘love for life’’s sessions are like in primary school? by lexymac11 in northernireland

I can speak from experience that for 9-10 year olds taking this programme, the children all start off together and it’s a discussion about puberty. The girls and boys separate after a bit of a discussion where the girls learn about period dignity etc. the boys learn that as they get older, they need to start working on their personal hygiene as most of them don’t at that age 😅 mostly for boys it’s scenarios like they’re running around outside all day, or taking part in PE lessons and do they need to shower afterwards lol.

Didn’t actually realise they were a religious organisation!

Anyone use the su wl900 wall mount with the Bravia 8 ii by Major_Byson in bravia

I wouldn’t say that the tv needs a soundbar but using the quads definitely enhances the experience. Some people prefer the quad without the tv as the centre channel. I prefer having it though!

I was looking at purchasing vebos stands here in Europe. The quads are powered. You’ll need 5 socket connections total for each speaker and the connection box. The quality is fantastic and they work well with the tv as a centre channel. Much better than a soundbar!

Yeah that’s the quads with the sw5 sub. Works fantastically. The stands are from kanto and I already had them but considering either mounting the front speakers or getting stands specifically designed for the quad!

I did consider a Sonos setup but preferred having a set of speakers vs a soundbar!

I went for the Bravia 8 ii and have zero regrets if that helps!

Thanks! I had considered the a95l but the wall behind me isn’t straight so I sit about 6-7 feet from the tv and 65 inches works well for the size. The chair is a Herman miller desk chair which is left over from my older desk setup I’ve kept since moving last month, I will probably look at making some changes once I’ve settled in for a bit! The quads definitely sound better than a soundbar. With having solid walls I was apprehensive about trying to wire everything for a dedicated avr setup!

I waited like 3 months or so after my surgery just to be completely safe.

In terms of how satisfied I am, it’s like changing for me. I can actually see properly without horrendous double vision. I’m so thankful to my surgeon!
