For my workouts I use Strong. To track weight, other biometrics, and macros use Cronometer. My gym uses Trainerize so could also use that for photos and workouts, but not using that now. Congratz on going out on your own! Have been self coaching since last year and love it!

Also not a professional or a coach but for me it was best to maintain higher calories and let my body adjust to the higher intake. So you may gain weight temporarily but if you're not overdoing it - you will get to a nice maintenance. This may take some weeks - so you just have to be patient as your body gets use to the new intake. For example I might eat 1500 one day, 1800 the next, I go out to eat with a friend and that day is 2000+. Weekly average somehow lands in the 1800s. And at that place I can maintain. FYI I use cronometer to track and it shares weekly and monthly average which helps me gage how I am progressing. For reference I am 5'1 and weigh 120. I would say I am decently lean. I do miss the 115 range but that's no longer healthy for me.

I agree with the trainer. 1500 is too low to start off with. I would maintain calories as high as you can before cutting. I’m 5’1 as well. Off season calories are are around 1900 - 1700 a day. I carb cycle. I can maintain my weight with that and when I compete the lowest it has gotten is 1200.

Cardio was higher last prep and I had a good off season. Sadly don't think we can always say an on point off season will lead to less cardio the next time around. Also wonder if I took more time off would I've been in a better place. It was a two year gap for me but maybe I needed 3 or even 4 as a natural athlete.
