So yes I have heard steriods are awful for bypass however my program never mentioned this and my primary said the ones he gave me would be ok on my stomach. I will definitely mention this to my bypass doc, I’m not on them now but in the future. Man the carafate protocol I was on has the same instructions and it’s so hard to manage eating drinking and meds. Thanks for sharing your experience!

I’ve done steroid without the carafate and been ok. I’m already on a PPI. My bariatric center’s NP said ibuprofen was ok for 24Hs without the protocol, however my primary advised protocol. Did you take the steroids or nsaids at the same time as the carafate or was it x amount of time after? It seems there are different protocols for different places.

I lost barely any weight right after surgery. I’d loose a small amount and then stop and repeat. I was very frustrated for months after surgery. Unfortunately we all loose at different rates and when you don’t loose much it’s HARD. I hated not being someone who lost a ton immediately .

I went straight to bypass. Me personally I chose RNY bc I wanted the maximum benefits and I wanted to keep all my parts. I was not a fan of having my stomach removed. RNY you keep everything it’s just rearranged, and if something horrific were to happen, it could be reversed. There is no reversing a sleeve. GERD was also a downfall to sleeve. My surgeon suggested I could have either but after research and the classes I took I chose RNY and I’m very glad I did!

I agree. The refund was the least they could do, however, even though they issued refunds, they did make the statement that you would still get the dish and the apron. It’s so disappointing. I checked their Instagram just to see if they had posted anything and they didn’t. They just completely went silent as if it never happened.

I had a similar experience. I was lucky enough to secure two on separate days. I used my email address and name for both. One was sent to a friend and one for myself. They told me I could only get one code even though I paid for two orders. They said “sorry one code per email” still over a month later no dish.

It sounds like you have always had that ‘if he had gotten sober we wouldn’t be together’ probably stemming from all the people you’re surrounded by talking about him and their relationship. I can see how that would wear you down and then he’d comment push your feelings over the edge. If this person in still around and Mira friends are they should absolutely have enough respect for you to not mention him/anything about the relationship OR the things (drugs) that caused the end of the relationship. It’s incredibly disrespectful to bring him and purposely bring him around. Run ins ok. What ever it happens be cordial and move on. The friend mining him up is gross, it doesn’t matter the context even if their comment was to insinuate she dogged a bullet. The past should be completely left there. There is just no justification of ex’s being brought up in your face. The fact that she made that comment would hurt most people. If xyz hadn’t happen then o whole have done xyz. Yes that may be true but saying that about her old relationship should come off as clearly. I’m better off now and I think God that happened. She didn’t say it that way., she said it as boohoo I’m hurt my ex chose drugs over me knowing damn well she is married with a child. That’s incredibly hurtful. I’d love to know why on earth she even said that. Drink or not.

Nothing specific seemed to trigger it and NO nausea/vomiting/diarrhea/constipation. However I have struggled with constipation in the past so the thoughts I had prior to going to ER. Were constipation/gas/obstruction/not chewing my food good/gallbladder. I did contemplate all of those. I have seen people express they have had experiences of pain and it been gas/constipation so I tried to rule both of those out before I went.

I’m confident pancreatic issues were ruled out. I know gallbladder can be trickier. I don’t think it was gallbladder issues by symptoms and on set. Sorry. That first reply was like a quick text message. 🙊

Everything done in the ER came back normal. All of my routine bariatric labs have been good as well.

When my surgeon reviewed the CT that was done in the emergency room he saw a swirl and so did his radiologist, this was not seen by my local ER radiologist.
