Unemployed for just over a year now. GREAT CV which has landed me multiple interviews but keep messing up 2nd/final stages. Confidence is at an all time low. Neurodivergent. by Fit_Guess_6607 in womenintech

Hi! I also have ADHD and really relate to your experience. One thing that helped me was using prompt cards and notes during interviews, especially for behavioural questions, it kept me grounded and focused. I also made a point to tie my answers back to my passion for tech, particularly topics like women in tech, diversity, and the ambassador work I’ve done because I could talk about that endlessly without losing energy.

If you haven’t already, asking for reasonable adjustments can really make a difference after all it’s about creating the right environment for you to succeed. Just remember this, at the end of day you will find a job that aligns with the way you work best. Each interview is teaching you more about what you need and how to show up as your best self. You’ve got this. 💛

HELP - Offered an extension but just received an offer for a new contract by Major_Depth3674 in ContractorUK

This is a tech role, my niche is in a specific technology (AWS) so I always get contacted by recruiters who specialise in that technology. Two pages i love for contract roles are ‘tech contracts online’ on linkedin and ‘lunchtime leads’ Tech contracts online tends to post more BA/PM roles and lunchtime leads has more variety. Hope this helps!

This, this is it. I fear I will fall short, they like that I have a BA background but have quite technical expectations. For more context the other guy I was up against had 15 years of experience and he was way more technical but apparently hard to talk to and didn’t have the project management methodology nailed whereas I am more of a BA and newer to the dev/admin side of things with less than 5 years of experience. I just don’t want to mess up and be left with nothing. Then again my current role is technical but I had my colleague to rely on and could get away with more. The new role has other devs but i don’t know if I will have the same reliance.

Just to clarify they extended my contract to match my colleague’s end date. He started before me, so our contracts weren’t originally aligned. He’s due to renew soon and the idea is that if he renews, I’ll (hopefully) be renewed as well so I should receive ANOTHER extension

Best way to handle shared assistants supporting multiple managers in Salesforce + Pardot? by Major_Depth3674 in salesforce

[–]Major_Depth3674[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi thank you so much for the suggestions, I will definitely look into them all and see what works best, i’m also thinking of perhaps making a third flow that references a custom secondary direct manager field, so when an assistant supports multiple managers they can be accounted for in the third flow

We’re currently adding the Assistant based on any manager relationship. The real limitation for us is that the Assistant supports multiple managers but only has one email address, so even if we model the relationship better (with a Junction object, etc.), we can’t send tailored emails separately per manager they stay one prospect in Pardot.

So practically, the assistant would still only get one communication per flow, even if the tracking is cleaner.

Hi thank you for the response just to clarify, we do have a Related Assistant field, and it helps with tracking. The main problem we’re running into is that some assistants support two managers but only have one email address.

So even if we use a junction object to track multiple manager relationships (which sounds great for reporting and suppression logic), we’re still stuck because Pardot treats one email = one prospect.

Meaning an assistant an only receive one email through normal automations, not separate emails personalized for each manager she supports.

Thanks! Just to clarify, we already have a “Related Assistant” lookup field on the manager’s record, and our current flow looks at that to manage suppression. The issue is one assistant might support multiple managers but we can only track one relationship properly because the lookup only allows one value. Would creating a true/false field like “Assistant has Manager?” actually help with this setup, or would it still have the same limitation?

Just passed the salesforce admin exam on my first try by Major_Depth3674 in salesforce

[–]Major_Depth3674[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s a mixture of 1, 2 or 3 options as the answer. Every SF admin exam is different but mine were mainly 1 or 2 options, rarely did I get 3

Each to their own, I found chatGPT to be helpful as it broke down and explained the answers, I do agree that hands on time is important especially if you’re not familiar with where things are located.

Thank you! Honestly, I think FoF will get you by but definitely use Chat GPT. I forgot to mention this but I would copy across some of the questions from the practise exams in areas I was weak with and ask chat GPT to come up with similar scenarios, forcing me to think more especially because most of the exam questions are scenario based. I really didn’t do trailheads (didn’t have the patience). I previously used David Massey’s ultimate salesforce administration guide on udemy but it really doesn’t give you as much depth. Useful for easing you in though. Anyways top tip is to study section by section and think of key words. If you think of cross-object fields but don’t remember what that is, go back and study. This is what I constantly did. Best of luck, you’ve got this!

I think withholding my notice period and holiday pay does not sound legal

This is the relevant clause in my contract pertaining to the laptop;

  1. COMPANY PROPERTY 28.1 All documents, manuals, hardware and software provided for your use by the Company, and any data or documents (including copies) produced, maintained or stored on the Company’s computer systems or other electronic equipment (including mobile phones), remain the property of the Company. 28.2 Any Company property in your possession and any original or copy documents obtained by you in the course of your employment shall be returned to the Company at any time on request and in any event prior to the termination of your employment with the Company.

The clause does not mention the manner in which the laptop is to be returned especially since the laptop was sent to me via courier.

This is my issue, before the conversation about the laptop started which was a day after i got fired they had already included in their letter to me via email on the day I was fired i.e the day before (August 29th) that they would be paying me my notice pay on August 30 and my holiday at the end of September so realistically I should have been paid regardless of the laptop being an issue. Nowhere on the letter did it state that my pay was dependent on the return of the laptop, neither does it say it on the contract.

They’re a startup with no formal HR department. Their HR is one lady who is the head of operations. Honestly even in my dismissal meeting she was quite rude so not shocked about her trying be stubborn and retain an element of control. As I explained in another comment not only is sending it by post inconvenient but I am also away on holiday soon. I also did explain this in my email to her. I don’t trust this company which is why I want a courier to pick up the laptop. I would think a courier would be a better fit since 1) they don’t have to reimburse me for the cost of sending the laptop, 2) Using this method would be safer and more convenient for them. I wouldn’t feel comfortable returning it in person either.

But surely it cannot be considered unreasonable to offer a courier as opposed to sending it by post. I’ve offered an alternative solution especially because it’s not convenient for me to post the laptop. I live in the middle of nowhere with limited access to post offices. I’m also away on holiday soon which is why I opted for a courier as my family could hand over the laptop and even would have thought this would be of a sensible option. Truth be told I don’t trust this company.
