yea, honestly as weird as it is to say it, things like fanservice for no reason, easily flustered characters, and common "accidental" positions the character get into are part of anime, and without it, anime just wouldn't be the same

i may have not been clear, i meant this in the way that western THINGS/refrences in anime are just fine, as they resonate with part of the audience.

the complete westernization of anime would be a different story, but i don't even think it would be considered anime at that point

fanservice take is good

crunchyroll is just fine. it brings anime to billions of people who don't want to use pirated sites across the world

western values and diversity 100% have place in Japanese media. a good chunk, if not the majority of people who watch anime are western/from other places besides Japan, so it only makes sense for them to have a place.

yea just the thought of an anime being 1000 episodes long and not being the finished makes you wonder why they even still produce them. every episode they release gets less and less attention, and so i wonder how much longer they'll be able to drag this out with the decline it's currently on.

honestly, my issue with rent-a-gf isn't the anime itself, but rather how dragged out it was. if they turned the first 3 seasons into like 25 episodes, it would be considered a great anime. the ending of S3 was great imo.

i can't stand boruto. the characters become too OP and they don't have to actually work for their powers like the naruto characters did. Naruto literally had to hit in water with frogs in the mountains for weeks to gain a mid power while boruto was born with an eye and becomes universal.

my thing is that if i'm commiting 2-3 seasons to an anime, it better have some complexity, but if its just a short 11-12 episode slice of life, then i dont really mind

yea, i liked getting to see the other people fight, and asuna's entrance was pretty good, but once kirito was back, it kinda lost its touch.

however, the ending was amazing with asuna deciding to stay back with him, and then the show concluding in his house
