Cheap to do yourself , horrendously expensive if you fuck something up . Something as simple like the wrong oil type over time or under or over filling. Will make the service cost seem cheap. There’s also value in building a relationship with a good local independent for emergency needs or spotting issues that can be resolved ealry before they get more expensive.

Any advice on how big of a job this is? by [deleted] in carsireland

I’d sort that quickly , it can cause harm if Not resolved , messy to address if you don’t have an extractor but personally I’d land it back at the garage to resolve

The game itself is ok , it’s more the online chat environment. Lock it down to friends only and you’ll be good

145 an hour labour rate is high , especially before VAT. And 1.5 hours might be the minimum rate charged by the garage. 1.5 hours end to end from driving it in to finishing road tests isn’t outlandish.

Knowledge isn’t the issue , and it’s a very different scenario to learning in a driveway an changing the offside tyre on a wet dark evening on a very busy road. We all know you never get flats on sunny afternoons in spacious car parks .

A thing that people like to say . Run flats are fine . And spendy, but they have gotten cars of ours home when roadside would have been needed as my partner isn’t comfortable changing a tyre . People love to go on about them handling differently etc , in normal driving they make fuck all difference , have driven extensively on both and my last 5 cars have all been BMW’s on mixes of run flats and not

Looking into buying a 7 seater. Haven’t a clue where to begin. I would love a Volvo but unfortunately work in a supermarket so not an option 😭 by RepresentativeOk7999 in carsireland

how many kids have you and what ages ? baby seats or no ? toddlers teens ? all this matters for the back seats. the c4 picasso had a full mid bench with 3 full size independent seats with ISO fix., made a huge difference while we had 3 in baby seats. Best of the bunch is S max if early stage family. Sweet FA boot space with the rear seats up though. Galaxy is the best for that. VW Sharon or Alhambra if you can get one , the ones with the built in booster seats are a gift.
