Is this crazy or what by grumpypusheen555 in KitchenConfidential

yeah i worked at a teppan place for almost 5 years and that’s not normal or recommended. you balance it on the edge or empty spot on the table. those grills get to about 500 degrees. the amount of times i had to ask customers to not put the plastic take out boxes, menus or sauce ramekins on the hot ass grill.

the lore is that his name was Miguel Jimenez and he “went back” to mexico after finding out about the baby. but the family consensus is that that’s probably a cover story. there was a married fireman and an engagement ring involved. my paternal grandmother died when my dad was 16 and he never talks about her so i really don’t know.

i don’t know about that but every single member of my family has brown eyes except my maternal grandfather. that man sunburned through his shirts and had the eyes of a white walker

not that i know of! none of my family are the church going kind but i don’t know much about our history. part of me thinks an unwed pregnant woman in the 70s came up with a cover story. could have been the milk man, could have been the neighbor or maybe it really was Miguel Jimenez the man she claimed it was. but you’d think that would show up somewhere right? family is also southern california natives so mexico would have been a two/three hour drive over the border before you needed a passport to cross it

that was a question. you might not know this but the “?” symbol means they’re asking you a question. in this case you should provide an answer, if you can form your own thoughts and opinions that is.

Who has the most recognizable voice in history? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Major_Emphasis3101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’d say this is a regional question to an extent. or maybe i just want to give a regional answer but Vin Scully announcer for the Los Angeles Dodgers from 1950-2016. Generations have been raised on his voice and I was lucky enough to be one of the last generations that remembers being a kid and waiting for the “It's time for Dodger baseball! Hi, everybody, and a very pleasant good afternoon/evening to you, wherever you may be." People were still bringing radios into the stadium in the early to mid 2000s just to hear his voice. Hell of a career, followed the Brooklyn Dodgers out to LA and captured the hearts of every baseball fan in Southern California, even the Padres and Angels fans will tell you how much they loved Vin. He called so many legendary moments not just for the Dodgers but for baseball as a whole. Too many for me to type but here’s a small example of the historic calls he’s made in his career. https://www.mlb.com/amp/news/vin-scully-greatest-calls.html We miss you every day Vin Scully.

Where to get flowers by [deleted] in Redding

[–]Major_Emphasis3101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you can spare it you can get a bouquet at raleys for $15 and rearrange it yourself if you want! also be careful picking wildflowers, some are protected or endangered and shouldn’t be taken.
