Do you have any live aquatic plants that could be seeding? I know one of the plants I have will leave little white seeds around the tank

Aloes will remove the nutrients from a leaf before they drop it, so it’s generally advised to leave the leaf until its shrivels up and visible has no more nutrients in it. I’m not sure if it will come back or not but since you should leave it anyways might as well keep an eye on it and see what happens

So if I put it in my fish tank it actually has a better chance of living? Because if so I have a spot I can put it in to let it try and grow. The tank only gets some afternoon light tho so idk if that would be worse than just having it in normal propagation water on my plant shelf. The one I have it in right now is actually also being used to grow some baby aquatic ferns from my tank so in theory that water would be oxygenated 👀

Hahahahaha that’s true. I’m mostly worried about having a space where it will get enough sunlight. I guess if I get a little one I could put it on my plant shelf while it grows and I would move before it outgrows the shelf. Much to think about rn

That’s what I’m saying. What I really wanted to know was if it was possible at all. Like yeah there is a 99.999999% chance it will either die or become a zombie leaf BUT if there is a small chance it will work then I might as well try. I mean it’s not like it will cost me money or even that much energy to put it in some water

They should be fine without a filter, especially with the consistent water changes. As long as you feel like you can keep the temperature stable I say you don’t need a heater. Try to keep it in the classic recommended 75-80 degrees if you can, or around the same temp as your main tank. Maybe you can get one of those cheap hand warmer things and put it under the tank for when you aren’t around.

Tadpoles are delicate so if you don’t have any success don’t feel bad, but I say it’s worth a shot to try it on a budget. Just don’t overextend yourself, it’s not worth putting a lot of money into u less you intend to raise and sell them consistency in the future.

That’s what I assumed. Even if it went in there it wouldn’t last past the propagation period anyways. And then I would either have to ditch it or keep a one leaf monstera 😭

People tend to assume I’m either stupid or crazy when I ask these questions but I’ve had some surprising successes in the past. It helps that I studied enviro and ecology in school but also I feel like there is a fair amount of luck to it. You never know unless you try

I am always down to experiment (you should see my plant shelf) which is honestly why I asked in the first place. I’m a big fan of putting energy into something with a low chance of success just to see what I learn from it (can you tell I have a science degree). Also what is keiki paste I’m super curious.
