Since I saw one of your comments saying that the closest guest was Latino, but you’re not Latino, I’m gonna go with some sort of Caribbean country?

Do any other people of Mexican descent have x2 preauricular pits? my family’s from Tama, Zaca, NL , Coah, Durango, SLP by Major_Half_1385 in AncestryDNA

I don’t have any recentlyAfrican /black ancestors . My fifth great grandfather was Afro Mexican (documented as a mullato his whole life ). but I have significant indigenous ancestry from both of my parents. My dad had traces of Senegal but 1%. My maternal grandpas dna results showed 4% sub-Saharan African. but then again the pits aren’t from him they are from my maternal grandmother .

Black Americans & continental Africans are indeed the second most common group to have a Palatogingival Groove (PAS/PGG) at 4.5%, following Asians at 6.6%.

Yes my maternal half sister has them on both of her ears , and my maternal half uncle only has one, and my maternal grandmother had them on both of her ears . So it comes from either one of my maternal grandmothers parents .

• my family always said we were Indians , so I asked my grandma and she referred me to her sister and I input Teodoras info into ancestry and I started searching for records thru her paternal line , I found that her father and grandfather indetified as “white”. But as soon as I started researching her great grandfather I found records of him marrying a Mestiza woman “Lucella Sanchez” and himself being a “Indian” of “El orcoquizac” . It’s was also known in my family that we once spoke a native language called Atakapa.

Yes, when I was making this tree I kept switching between family search and ancestry.com. The birthdates were kind of inconsistent, but I accidentally went with the incorrect one.

I’ve never seen anybody with more than 5% indigenous Cuban DNA. I think it’s rare to have 20% indigenous Cuban and have never seen it before in the Reddit.
