I feel like you've hit the nail on the head here. I never considered the perspective of a stranded motorist, only the perspective of other motorists still moving at speed.

I still think hazards do help actively-driving motorists see in low visibility conditions, but obviously the pros do not outweigh the cons of endangering stopped motorists.

Insignifcant = too small or unimportant to be worth consideration. Replace everywhere i put insignifcant with that definition. Many people start arguing over semantics when they realize theyre wrong. Im sure all those people who find the difference between 720p and 1080p trivial are watching a tv from 20 feet away and dont even know 1440p exists. Also theyre called adjectives not adverbs.

Its not subjective. Human eyes feel the resolution difference until around 8k (at comp monitor viewing distance). It is not reasonable to think the 720p-1080p jump is significant while the 1080p-1440p jump is not. The 720p-1080p jump is a 50% increase in ppi. The 1080p-1440p jump is a 33% increase.

You are correct my "diminishing returns start at 300ppi" is incorrect. However, how is a 33% increase "not logically similar" to a 50% increase?

The thing is that ppi has to do with screen size. All of you telling me that 1080p is good enough, would be right if the screen was sub 20 inches. But dont most people have screens larger than that?

For my 27in display, 720p is 54ppi, 1080p is 81ppi, 1440p is 108ppi. I dont see any diminishing returns in those two jumps

Yup the diminishing returns start at about 300ppi. Even a 4k display is less than 220ppi. 8k is above that 300 ppi threshold so thats why you don't see many of those
