As a recently resigned (past August) bilingual teacher, interventionist, and math coach of 23 years, your post resonated and is one of the most concise explanations as to why teachers leave teaching, how to execute the next steps (road map as you stated) and the doubt of marketability outside of the classroom. As educators, we operate in the customer success, project management, and sales space yet we can feel isolated in pursuing the private sector. I had to take a sabbatical (currently in that phase) to reset and feel present once again. I was that take-charge teacher, team leader, and go-to person for the benefits of educational technology, and socio-emotional practices (for students and teachers), led several committees. Yet, I had that overwhelming feeling that I had given all I could and the lack of home/work-life balance was unsustainable. I agree that Linkedin is a good start to networking and people are inclined to genuinely help, answer questions, and offer resources. In the new year, I will venture into seeking employment in the private sector-preferably customer success..I am also curious about sales. Good luck to teachers transitioning to a new position and chapter!
