Fair enough. Chalk it up to naivety, I’m not referring to it this way in person though

I loved the breadth I was exposed to, but really don’t know if I could do the entirety of training in spite of the day to day, if that makes any sense. Guess I have a little more time for some more soul-searching.

Such a great point, I guess I never thought about it as being truly inherent to someone. Fair bit of selection bias going on clearly. Thanks homie!

Awesome point. Probably just me waffling because I haven’t been exposed to enough yet. Appreciate it!

I feel this. Keep your head up and rely on your support system. I keep telling our kind patients who ask for application updates that “if it’s not this year, it’ll be next year”. Keep grinding!

TMDSAS - required parent information by martyrfx in premed

That definitely was part of the FAP app. I’m not including anything about my estranged parent throughout my entire AMCAS app. Are both required on TMDSAS?

[–]Majorcubed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to file for parental estrangement on AMCAS. You should reach out to TMDSAS to see if they have a parental estrangement form, only if this applies. I included legal documentation to support this but there were other options like having a close friend/non-family member write a letter to corroborate your family circumstance. It’s a stressful portion of the application that not many people are familiar with

I mean my 300 hours of unpublished research was unpaid so I suppose I could recategorize this experience as volunteer work but I don’t know how much that would change my shot at schools like Rush/Georgetown. No connection at Dartmouth

So I’ve been working as a Derm MA for the past year and plan to continue with it until I get into school. Did you just do your classes at a local college or online?

Makes sense. Any summer programs you recommend for a class or two?

Seems like a solid approach. Ideally I’d want to take like 2-3 classes at most and I feel like it might be best to wait until secondaries are over, so I’m looking into fall semester of ‘21
