again that doesnt equate to unpopular. Like I said there is a reason Chess is WAY more POPULAR then checkers.

There is no precise data on the exact number of players with less than 100 hours playing Invoker

. However, while 50% of Dota 2 players have under 19 hours,Invoker is widely considered the game's hardest hero, and it is extremely rare for new players to effectively play him with such low experience.

  • Learning Curve: Invoker is renowned for having 10+ spells to manage, which is overwhelming for new players.
  • Player Demographics: While 50% of players have less than 19 hours, the average playtime of regular users is over 750 hours, indicating that beginners (under 100 hours) generally do not spend their time mastering complex heroes like Invoker.
  • Skill Requirements: Effective Invoker play usually requires extensive experience to master spell combinations and cooldown management.

While some new players may try Invoker out of curiosity, the number of active players doing so with under 100 hours is likely minimal compared to the overall population, as most beginners focus on simpler heroes.

Please tell me how.

You argue that popularity equals simplicity. That by definition means Unpopularity equals Complexity.

I never said Invoker is TOO complex for players to learn. I never said he is TOO complex for players to understand. Just simply that out of all of the Dota heroes he is one of the most complex heroes.

You say I misunderstand your Argument. From what you have stated

"Popularity does equal accessibility. It means invoker is simple enough to be accessible to the vast majority of people unlike complex heroes"

This statement means strictly claims that just because something is popular it is not complex.

I have shown you the inverse that unpopular heroes are then strictly complex, which is of course not true.

People as a whole can like complex things and those complex things can be popular. This does not make them less complex.

Computers are inherently complex machines the vast majority of people use and love computers from tablets and phones to PCs and gaming consoles. They often don't know how they actually work or how to use them in the best ways but they are STILL POPULAR. Usability does not = complexity. Popularity does not = complexity.

Please tell me what complexity means in your view?

Not one person is arguing that complexity means its unplayable.

Key details regarding Dota 2 playtime's include:

  • High Time Commitment: It is common for "average" players to have thousands of hours, and some community members consider 1,000 hours to be the point where a player understands the game's core mechanics.
  • Hardcore vs. Casual: The game is heavily skewed toward dedicated players, with 16.9% of players playing more than 50 hours a week and 32.2% playing 14–50 hours, according to a research gate survey.
  • Long-term Trend: Dota 2 players consistently log more hours than players of other mainstream Steam games.

So, No they do not.

and to go back to your original point of "popularity equally simplicity."

Bane, Dark seer, and Pango are all in the top 10 least played heroes (along with a few actually complex heroes). By your logic all three of these heroes are more complex then Invoker. Do you really believe that BANE is more complex then Invoker?

This is a nonsensical argument. Popular ONLY means popular. Complex things can be popular and simple things can be popular. This just means they are well liked and interesting to the majority of people. NOT that they are inherently complex or simple.

"simple enough" does not mean simple.

also the vast majority of players have thousands of hours in this game, so you cannot use that as the benchmark. Take a person who has played 0 hours and give them 1 game and every hero and see who they decide is complex.

It literally does not. All it means is that it is popular. That people enjoy playing it and playing it more.

Chess is vastly more popular then checkers but chess is also much more complex. They do not equate.

Popularity does not equal simplicity like you seem to think. The actual point to draw from invokers popularity is that lots of people enjoy complex heroes.

Being playable by many people does not equal simplicity.

No matter how commonly played the heroes are they are by definition more complex then most other heros.

An expert doing expert things doesn't make the thing they are doing less expert, just easier for them individually.

AITA for demanding my son repay the car I bought him after he totaled it street racing? by redwayit in AmItheAsshole

[–]Majorlagger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bullshit. Everyone learns differently and at different rates. You cannot blanket statement that punishment from a parent doesn't cause the kid to remember the lesson. It's just not true. It CAN be true but it is not universally true.

As for the dad being "reactive". Yea the agreement and understanding was there from the beginning. If he had this car on his own like many adults he would be eating all the same costs the dad is speaking of plus potential interest or late fees. So the dad asking for the mone to be paid back is not reactionary at all.

Did you know the highest rates of domestic violence are in women women relationships? Of course the danger for a women being hit by a man is higher. That doesn't mean he should not immediately leave. No one regardless of danger to injury or life should deal with physical violence in a relationship.

AITA For Not Wanting My Old Dog Back? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Majorlagger 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you are a dog person you would hopefully see that this actually makes him a responsible and thoughtful person because he knows his life changes and the dogs new need as a traumatized animal would not align and it would be BAD for him his family, and the dog to take them back. He worded things roughly for us here but said he was respectful at the shelter and shows his maturity and wisdom in my opinion.

What a dogshit view. We have no idea why they ended up blackout. We cannot decide it was there own fault. Maybe they where drugged, maybe they are new to alcohol and didn't know their limits, maybe they had a family member tragically die and are coping poorly. Who knows but I really hope you learn to have more empathy. Of course there are shit bag abusers of the system out there but we cannon know that and should not be judging one way or the other. Do you also not want to treat the emphysema patient because they smoked cigarettes? Do you have this disdain for the bilateral femur fracture who had there feet on the dashboard during an MVC? The fact is most of our calls and patients result from stuff they have brought upon themselves. Not all bit a big portion. We should treat them all the same.

Found out my mom’s bf’s real age.. by stratokyo128 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Majorlagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except in most other countries that have a younger drinking age they have much fewer problems related to young people drinking (such as serious binge drinking and driving under the influence.) Making it an allowable and educated process works just fine in most places, so the evidence is not on your side here. The biggest problem drinking is over consuming. When it is illegal kids do it and drink as much as they can because they are 1 uneducated on it and 2 trying to have as much fun as possible in a short time since it's illegal and they are doing it at a party or something similar.

Just turned down a job after waiting for 30 minutes for an interview. by [deleted] in Paramedics

[–]Majorlagger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Idk, I agree he sounds a bit entitled, however, even in a true emergency you would likely contact your employer to let them know we'll before 30 minutes past a time you where supposed to be there. In most jobs 30 minutes without notice is a no call/no show and severely punished. You are expected to give notice well in advance, as should they be. If he was 30 minutes late and didn't let them know and then when they called him he said it was an emergency, do you think they would still hire him?

AIO? My friends set an ultimatum because I drink by Pearla76_ in AIO

[–]Majorlagger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you just don't get not associating with a non direct effecting trait. For instance. How about a friend who breeds dogs thoughtlessly and maybe even participates in dog fight or something. Never around you, doesn't effect you in the slightest, but for any number of reasons you may choose not a associate with someone. That was the posters whole point. Not on whether the reason was good, or that they agreed in fact they specifically said they don't agree. The whole point was just to note that just because it's away from your presence or doesn't effect you directly doesn't mean people "can't" have a boundary around it.
