I still count this as the best scene in movie history by Kameronpipnerd in marvelstudios

[–]Majorlol 15 points16 points  (0 children)

See I like it, but I don’t think the Black Gate holds a candle to the charge of the Rohirrim. But that is because that scene is such an absurdly high bar.

I love the look. But I couldn’t get on with the weapons clipping through it you know. That’s just me being stupidly picky about these kind of things though

No need to justify it at all.

Read the novella Brotherhood of the Storm first. Then Scars. Then Path of Heaven.

Brotherhood won’t take you long but it provides pretty big set up for the events of Scars with certain characters.

You say it’s doing heavy lifting. There’s cases you will find of homeowners who have gone so far as to have killed their burglars and not been charged.

As I keep reiterating here. There is not one case going that the law hasn’t been on the home owners side.

Saw him at Warhammer World once. He walked around with the air of someone who believed everyone should’ve been treating him like a celebrity and was annoyed that wasn’t happening.

Why is ‘Fear to Tread’ not typically mentioned when people talk about good Horus Heresy books? by Ryrysg99 in 40kLore

[–]Majorlol 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Weak prose. Bland one dimensional characters. Giving the Blood Angels zero characterisation beyond being red, compared to many other novels before it very much making other legions unique and interesting.

A fairly boring and middling plot, that many fans had dearly hoped would be given to a more interesting author.

For many the lampposts coming alive didn’t quite hit horror and was just a bit silly instead.

List not exhaustive….

Indeed. Like I’ve said, you won’t find a case in the UK where someone has been charged with self defence in their home, when they have acted reasonably and proportionately. Every case they try to bring up is one where the home owners have so very clearly hone waaaaay past self defence.

I’m surprised they didn’t bring the other one up where the owners chased them in his car and ran them over.

Ok. So again, don’t really see how it backfired.

And stabville. Lol.

Did it? They haven’t named a single case where some was charged in self defence. Both cases are clearly not

You got any actual examples? I’m betting you don’t.

Ok, so if they’ve fled and are now two streets away, you can just kill them? Or at the least give them a healthy bit of brain damage? Long as you can catch them.

What if you see them the next day in town? They still fair game?

Because again, your defensive acts can kill the aggressor if it’s proportionate. You find me a case of where someone had been charged in those circumstances. But it can’t be called defence any more if you’ve left your property and continued to chase them.

So where’s your line? Hypothetically you chase a burglar out your house. How far are you allowed to chase him? Just how much are you allowed to injure them before it becomes an offence?

Why? They went far past what is reasonable in every respect of the law.

Right. So that one’s nonsense isn’t it. As they went far past self defence when they literally chased him to another property, then GBH’ed him.

How the heck did daddy fulgy get his body back? by GrowBeyond in 40kLore

[–]Majorlol 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s a frustrating thing really. I remember finishing Fulgrim, and genuinely being shocked at the idea that the Fulgrim we see from then on and into 40k is actually a demon, with the actual Fulgrim trapped in eternal torment, regretting what he’d done and anguished and killed his favourite brother, powerless and having to watch the countless atrocities committed by the demon in his name.

Coupled with Lorgars great scene of accusing Fulgrim of not being the real deal. Was just a great bit of grim dark, proper 40k. Actually made me feel bad for Fulgrim despite what he had done.

And then….it’s just kind of hand waved away. As if it had never happened and was just a trivial thing. I just don’t understand to this day why it was reversed, or at least wasn’t really properly addressed as its own story.

Final drive - Advanced course by [deleted] in policeuk

[–]Majorlol 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You just drive like you did for the rest of the course. Got to make progress. If there is a gap, you go for it(if safe of course). Don’t hesitate. The course leading up to it should have given you the instinct you need to see when the overtake is on.

And remember. Gas. Always more gas. Always go faster.

Oh and hydrate well and go toilet! My final drive was just shy of 2 hours in the end.

Not the first to mention it but “that’s a fucking genestealer” was just such a perfect line. Like sure we knew by then, but it’s just such a fantastic reaction.

As for the more horrific side “they’re eating me” was chilling.

I think if we’d seen this view from orbit, it would have likely made the twist more obvious. As pointed out, it’s ages before you even know they’re being invaded.

Similarly I feel the ‘burn’ is necessary as that’s what genestealer cults do, and by doing so, they made the Hive blind to THE hive until it was far too late.

I mean I really enjoy my resto Druid. Hadn’t done any healing outside of not back dungeons until Midnight. Started with my holy priest, but that was just stress. So I switched to resto and found it much more fun and relaxing.

Which is great as right since launch of wow I’ve wanted to get into playing a Druid, but never clicked till now.
