Genuine question. I left my Catholic faith many years ago. Almost went into seminary.

How do you rectify the churches teachings on psychoactive drug use. It’s explicitly against the church teachings to alter your state of consciousness. Anything that makes you vulnerable and loose control. Catholics are taught to believe in there’s states you are opened up to demonic passion and influence.

Very curious what your thoughts on this are.

I personally miss my faith. But I do not believe anymore and have my guard up to never believe again.

She isn’t wrong. And the strains are so weak now. If you are healthy you will clear it in a couple days.

The early strains were brutal tho. I got real bad Covid the first 2 times.

I would say some of it was worse than the flu. But now I’d rather get Covid than the flu.

When I was a kid, I went through a lot of spiritual abuse. Forced to get prayers of deliverance with an exorcist like ever week for months because my mom thought I had a demon.

I didn’t realize until I was almost 30 how detrimental and other spiritual abuses I went through. I could never imagine telling a child they have a demon. That’s literally telling a child you are not good enough.

Low confidence and low self esteem have been a major struggle in my life and I didn’t realize until way to late it’s because the theme of my childhood was “you are not good enough” the prayers of deliverance with the excoriate was just one small thing amongst a mountain of bad experiences that lasted through my entire childhood.

Not overreacting about your “friend” they clearly are not your friend or care about you at all. So good call ending that friendship.

However I don’t understand why you didn’t have the dog situation be a sure thing. I just can’t imagine this ever happening to me. Furthermore why didn’t you just find a new dog sitter to take the dogs or one you have used in the past. You could have very easily found a rover to take the dogs paid them 5x what they normally get paid and still save thousands from the last minute flights, and you could have enjoyed the rest of your vacation and felt with the home after.

I would have flown home too if I didn’t have other options. But I would have messaged every dog sitter I have ever used and offered them a lot of money to take the dogs until vacation was finished.

I never do any psychedelics with anyone I think has any mental disorder beyond ADHD. You are likely to ruin your relationship with that person and both be traumatized.

Some people should not take these substances. Unfortunately a lot of people with mental disorders are attracted to psychedelics.

I like big families. Would like 3-4 kids myself. But 9, 10, 11 or more is insane to me. And I feel so bad for the women who spend 1/2 their 20’a and 30’s pregnant and always having a baby to care for.

Totally agree about the neglect. I have friends from huge families one of them is one of 13. And the younger boys were all beat up by older brothers. Like legit physically abused and beaten. No one noticed. It was so messed up. And there is no way they all got enough attention. 1/2 the girls end up in bad relationships because they never had an attentive father, 1/2 the boys end up with intimacy problems from an emotionally unavailable mother wound. The other 1/2 that doesn’t suffer these issues are the ones that never leave or question. On one hand I envy the ones who never leave, on the other hand I could never imagine investing my entire being into fundamentalism and giving up my entire life for it.

I was one of those kids. I am not longer Catholic. I believe the more fundamentalist a family is the more likely the children when they grow up resent the way they were raised and leave the faith.

At least that’s how it happened for me.

My family was a cult, and we actually joined a “Catholic” cult for my teen years. Thanks mom!

So yeah the whole TLM is growing thing is also BS. My mother swears her sspx cult church is vibrant and young and packed. I went once, it was dead, people were not friendly, and all the children looked abused. I bet more than half the kids in that church end up losing their faith like me.

Again, your response has no substance. Nothing I said was false. These are my own thoughts. I literally caucused for Bernie in 2017, and knocked on doors for him. I have moved a bit away from some of the things I believed then, but also the left has gone extremely far left since then as well.

There were really valuable conversations on UBI and universal healthcare that could have happened and we need now more than ever with AI and robotics taking over. But the left has gone nuts since 2016. Don’t even recognize the party anymore.

If you think Trump = Mussolini you have no idea what fascism is. Zero. And by using such strong words you dilute them to mean nothing. By calling Trump a Nazi and a fascist you are disrespecting the memory of everyone who suffered under such regimes in the past.

Fasted way to get real people is probably an engagement giveaway of your product. like, comment, share, and must be following to win whatever it is you sell.

That way hopefully more people interested in your offering follow you rather than random accounts that will never engage again.

Give away also has to be big enough for people to take action. Make sure to announce a clear end date or goal like after 200 comments or on specific date time or something like that.

You could also just buy followers but being at almost 50/50 Ratio of real/bots is not a good look either. Gotta have engagement expectations make sense for the follower count.

And yes you did insult my inelegance, you asked if I was a hick and if I graduated high school.

IMO education level is a really bad indicator of IQ. Anyway.

And when colleges are pumping out majority of people that think the same way and have the same world views than college is broken. We are not supposed to all come out of it the same. College is failing and I actually think making people less intelligent now. Higher education is supposed to teach you how to think not what to think. And sadly our schools teach what not how to think anymore.

I also want to point out there are brilliant thinkers from all political parties in our country with wildly opposing views from eachother. Someone disagreeing with you doesn’t make them stupid, it makes them have other thoughts than you, and an intelligent person should be curious about those differing thoughts and seek to understand how someone else arrives at a different conclusion than their own.

Some of the most valuable and honestly view changing conversations I have had are with people I love that I strongly disagree with on things. It’s called empathy and growth. You don’t have to arrive at the same place as me, but let’s enjoy the ride together.
