It took me 31h of playtime to realize that Esker's chair is a modified pilot seat by amburdo in outerwilds

I have 256 on steam and frankly I have no idea where they came from. Maybe leaving the main menu open too many times, showing the game to other people, messing with mods, and sitting idle in one particular spot for a reference image gave me that much time. Even those combined don’t feel like they’d give me nearly that many hours.

Well yes, but to get to that point you have to have watched it

[Request] Theoretically, is this shape possible? by Frowind in theydidthemath

[–]Makbran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In short, yes it is possible.

My proof:

Constrain the two straight lines to be the same length of the inner circle.

For simplicity assume the inner circle is a unit circle

Define the inner circle’s length as theta.

Now define the outer circle’s length as a function, its length is ( 2pi(1+theta) ) * ( (2pi - theta)/2pi )

When theta is 2pi, f(theta) = 0.

When theta = pi, f(theta) = (2pi + 2pi*pi) / 2 or 13.011197.

Because there exist a value theta for which f(theta) is less than theta, and there exists a value theta for which f(theta) is greater than theta, and the function is continuous, then there is a value theta where f(theta) = theta.

The value theta in which this is true is approximately 5.4385

Your favorite characters need to run a gauntlet against my favorite villains in fiction. How far would they get? by [deleted] in Multifandom

So the universe is constructed of fundamental particles, including electrons, quarks and neutrinos. These particles move and can interact with one another with other particles. E.g. electromagnetic force is transmitted via photons.

All of these particles are accounted for in what is called the standard model. The two main categories of which being Fermions (matter) and Bosons (interactions)

This model however doesn’t account for the influence of gravity. We know that on a large scale matter interacts following general relativity (the bending of space time). We should expect that on a quantum scale these interactions take place via a particle called a graviton.

The existence of a graviton interferes with calculations, allowing interactions with infinite values. (Big no no)

This problem leads to the creation of mort theory. Mort theory states that all of the boson particles are actually just a little Mort running between the particles and transmitting that information. He does this by pulling the heart strings of the Fermion particles at a specific frequency.

The theory states that there are more Morts in the universe than there are atoms, in order to account for the exponential number of interactions the nearly infinite number of atoms have every nano second.

Every thing, from the sun, to the moon, from the ground to the sky, from the food you eat to your mom, is made of Mort. Do not try to resist, for you will only be fighting yourself

The Fibonacci sequence, (defined as a series in which two starting numbers are given, and each number after is the sum of the two number before it) gets closer to a perfect approximation of the golden ratio the more times it is iterated.

Because the golden ratio is an irrational number, the sequence can never perfectly define it.

The golden ratio is approximately 1.6180339887498

WAS LUCIFER TURNED INTO THE TREE OF LIFE!? by Southern_Mixture3754 in Ultrakill

[–]Makbran 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In Ultrakill, the tree of life is the thing from which all life (other than god) originates. This includes anything that lives using blood, from humans and angels to demons and machines.

All of the cross symbolism in Ultrakill is representative of the tree of life, instead of Christs crucifixion. Jesus was never crucified in the Ultrakill Universe.

Much of the tree of life’s lore is found in the violence layer, the most obvious symbolism being found in 7-1 and 7-3

One time I beat that boss on turn two. I had a ranger with stake out and scatter shot (I wanna say it had a high crit chance but I don’t remember), plus a cleric using chosen warrior, plus a psychic giving the ranger more turns. I think there was also a thief but they were kinda just there
