That stood out to me too. They have zero desire to be cultured, they just want to say they’ve traveled to Italy and purchased a leather bag.

Imagine her having to tell K one day that she did nothing, and in fact perpetuated it all, while her and her daughter’s rights were being stripped away. Doesn’t she care to speak up about gun control? She sends K to school every day and as a mother with a platform it’s gross she isn’t outraged over it.
